Years ago I said here that Zune was NOT a product. It was Microsoft's field experiment with DRM technology to see what they could shoehorn into Windows.
Now that Microsoft has what they need from this field test, they are going to blow up all the Zunes and eat the cost of them in one pass.
You don't think so? Really? Microsoft has lost more than 11 billion dollars on Xbox just so they have a presence in that market.
I'm reasonably sure that if Oregon did that that California would share in the data and do it too. It's not as if they've EVER turned down a fee or tax, ever unless is was specifically voted down.
Why can't Oregon simply read the odometer when they inspect the car? Or are they one of those hippy libertarian states that deems inspections an undue burden from The Man?
So there's a point to be made here. And while IBM makes mad loot from Notes, the latest version, Notes 8 has sufficient problems that they could use more eyes on it
My wife, who's an attorney, for more than a decade kept every memo she ever wrote in a SINGLE word processing doc. It ran to thousands of pages. She was afraid of creating documents.
In 'The Core' the GG bridge is melted by a beam of solar microwave radiation punching through the atmosphere caused by the collapse of the earth's magnetic field.
Seriously we could nuke the comet to blanket the earth with anti radiation particles for when the earth's core 'stops'. The Golden Gate Bridge will of course have to be melted.
Why should only hedge funds and corporations get the benefit of lax or nonexistent regulation, no enforcement and robber baron capitalism? It's only reasonable and in strict GOP dogmatic compliance that we should get away with everything we can up to and including hacking the IRS to afford ourselves a lower tax bill. And since all taxes are teh evil, I'm sure the Grover Norquists of the world are cheering.
That spending money on MacBooks is insane unless you're getting them for less than half of retail price. A reasonably good device can be had for $400-$500 retail as opposed to a MacBook.
It's not enough that you flack up some stupid 'rules' that you know everyone will break so you can have the smug satisfaction of expelling everyone. No - you have to technically lockdown the devices so that they are absolutely restricted. In fact you should not look at them as computers as all. You should look at them as nuclear powered yellow pads that do only what is mandated by the school. The devices should be useless as general purpose computers. When the student can buy them, they will be useless anyway. This way you can recycle them back to the next round of students cheaply.
Since the Rockefeller laws went into effect, NYS has spent billions locking up nonviolent drug offenders to ridiculously long prison terms. Last tally about 67% of all prisoners in NYS were so called nonviolent drug felons incarcerated under mandatory sentencing. They spend about $2 billion a year just maintaining that population. And that's just on the prison side of the equation. It doesn't even add the hundreds of thousands of doughnut eaters who have no other job than to round up all the drug lords with a quarter oz of weed on them.
The median tenure in IBM was about 15 years a decade ago. Now it's about 4. So while it's good for a bottom line perspective, it's debatable whether they're providing the same level of expertise or quality. Of course if everyone else delivers at a weal level then no one is in a better or worse situation than anyone else. And perhaps it doesn't matter. Perhaps delivering to C minus mediocrity is all we need to do.

Is that like a trackball or my Thinkpad's red eraser?
T+W pays my city a 15% bribe off the top for 'access' which they pass on to me. And for that I get crappy monopoly service and now no service?
Go Satellite and stab these motherfuckers in their beds. Kill them all.
I want to make sure they get what they're asking for so I hammer them tons of ill gotten files. Regularly.

1) they have their head up their asses
2) they mumble under their breaths what the BNP says aloud.
MS might actually be insane. Just refuse. I don't support crazy people. Save that shit for Robert Mugabe.
Ah yes, never. In a related point, Sony lays off thousands. That's some great plan you got there, Lou.

That is all.
Oz is no different than China or Iran. Just ban the whole thing and criminalize it as a felony. I would 1 thousand percent back that.
And if they could make it levitate that would be awesome. I hope they spend their next 100 billion dollars on that one.

Seriously. So are half the laptops on Tigerdirect.

To do what? It's not like it's the era of Lord Nelson.
How well do they do after their own cannibal king thief goes to jail? The answer is pretty much the same as before.

Just chop out all the vowels and print like it's lolspeak

This is not about values it's about teaching.
