    So I guess you don't believe in archaeology, evolution, anthropology, etc, etc, etc because they weren't directly observed?

    Quite a lot of science is based on indirect evidence.

    I'd say a fundamental part of good practice with IE is to use it with an HTML rewriter. I use "The Proxomitron".

    hehe, thats a good one. I agree, a good practice for surfing with IE is to not let it read it's own HTML.

    Really, when a specific implimentation of a technology is being used overwelmingly for illegal activity, we, as a society, have a responsibility to look into the causes, and try to resolve the issue.

    The "balance" in IP law has been so skewed that I view massive copyright infringement as part of the solution, not part of the problem.

    Same reason you can't see AIM buddies on your yahoo IM tool. Apple *created* their own network (iTunes). It's theirs to use. No other company has the RIGHT to inherently have their products work with with it.

    MS *created* their own document format (.doc). It's theirs to use. No other company has the RIGHT to inherently have their products work with it.

    Compare and contrast this with Microsoft who has repeatedly *actively sabotaged* other companies' products from working with their system,

    Kind of like how Apple actively sabotaged Real's technique of getting their files to play on an iPod?

    Both Apple and Microsoft are evil to some degree, but the depth of their evil is entire leagues apart.

    The evil is the EXACT SAME! The only differeence is that one company is smaller than the other, does that make it less evil?

    Apple is a small company, they have no monopoly in any market, and in the market where they are the strongest (iPod) they do not show a tendency to prey on other manufacturers at the expense of the customer.

    Then why can't I play songs purchased from iTunes on my Creative player?

    I was going to mod spadefoot up but thought I would point out that if you automagically signed a non-disclosure agreement when you visited a doctor getting a second opinion would be illegal. Since that obviously is not the case the premise is false. QED.

    People keep saying this but it is blatantly false. The president can deploy the National Guard at will.

    It would be interesting to know why MySQL did business with SCO, maybe on principle they turn no customer away, or maybe a need for money overrode. The latter case might be a legitimate concern for the community.

    SCO sells an operating system (sometimes). Interoperability is something most software producers (and customers) consider a good thing.
