As the CEO of an American game publisher and former independent development company I find it difficult to understand how a successful indie developer could go out of business. Maybe things are different in Europe, but at least in America a smart CEO would sell off IP, work as a contractor, secure big IP, or consolidate.
As the owner of a commercial game development company I must say that WineX is great. We don't have time for native ports, and there is not enough money in them for our developers. Don't get me wrong, I love Linux. My point is, if it was not for WineX most people would never play any of our games on Linux. We will continue to do everything we can with Transgaming to ensure the best performance when playing our games. I am sure someday that Linux will become more widespread, and then you can expect native releases.
It's now a hate-hate relationship with SCO. I think it's an utter outrage to charge for the Linux kernel. Will companies like Redhat and Mandrake actully take notice? If SCO is somehow able to enforce this it could definitly put a large dent in the growth of the community. Find out next time on Slashdot!
I make a living off of copyrighted material. These webcasters are forced to ethier stop or go underground becuase of the RIAA. This monopoly has no positive impact on the people outside of the record industry. There motive must be to keep the real radio and new services like XM alive. Therefore internet radio must be stopped. Thanks to ole Sherman, we don't have to take their trash.
I am a commercial game developer, money I make is through sales of games. I think Linux is dandy, yet I find myself using MS products for obvious reasons. Consoles can't be open for anyone to develop on, for the companies such as MS could not afford to produce them, they would not make any money from licencing. Sadly the issue here is quite different. This is about people pirating games. I am all for Mod-Chips that don't allow people to pirate games, such as the Cromwell Linux bios. This guy is selling ModChips that are being used for illegal purposes, thats the beef I and the rest of the game industry have with it. He is making a few bucks and the industry is losing thousands, not a wonderful trade off. Enough said.
3DMark is sadly falling into the depths of deceptive marketing and bias views. Over at RCAM, we work with nVidia and use thier hardware for development. I have watched the anticipation for the Geforce FX rise yet I know nVidia already has a much better card up thier sleve. The delays in the industry are only to give the PR boys and girls more time to market yesterday's technology to the users of tomorrow. In conclusion no matter what the consumer market has to offer thier will always be something better 3 months later. Though because of the immoral ratings in this version of 3DMark it will be more difficult to determine which cards are really on top.
Not only do I use the caps key to check if Windows has become frozen but I have a horrid habit of using the Caps Lock key instead of shift.

I second that new poll motion!
Everyone that has read this page must now pay $600 or delete the internet.
Ouch... Come on, lets be honest, maybe twice.
when all the pirates download the DRM patch and get busted.
