Maybe you can fill me in. I'm a HUGE fan of Peter F. Hamilton's Night's Dawn trilogy and his Fallen Dragon, though I seriously disliked Misspent Youth.
How does this compare? Am I missing out on something?
But it's destroyed a lot of lives and a lot of productivity.
I know it's not on the same scale as alcohol or other actual substances, but I wonder how much more productive people would be if they hadn't gotten sucked into these. How many hundreds of thousands of man hours were sucked into these games? What is the price of that lost productivity to the world and to the individuals?
Heheh. You can see the 'bigger losers' surfacing in the mod-fight over my post. Right now it's -40% troll, +30% insightful, +30% funny, +1 Karma. I wonder where it will end up. My expectation was it would have gone to -1 Flamebait faster than Ho-Hos down Kirsti Alley's piehole.
This is another one of those events that fails the same test that Star Trek/Sci Fi conventions, Comic Book conventions, and Ham/Amatuer Radio Fests also fail.
That test, you can't explain it to your girlfriend without becoming incredible concious of her thinking you're a loser.
Of course - in fact, they don't even have to admit publicly that they are remedial actions - just a change in policy.
But the point is that they are no claiming that people who don't agree with their current policy are too stupid to understand how Ebay works, which is typically how a spokeshole reacts when his company has been caught ripping people off or when his country is about to be liberated.
The real question is whether or not this is in the fine print. If it isn't, either a CA judge or a jury is going to give Ebay a mighty whoopin where they will have to refund the embezzled amount to everyone.
And please keep note as to whether Ebay stops this practice before the court requires them to as an indication of the confidence in their innocence.
Why would Adama be dead? Also, I suspect the mystics will keep the prez alive. She is my least favorite character and that whole political thing is the worse part of the show. It suspends the reality of the programming.
AFAIK, no one is in immenent danger of dying and I've seen the entirety of season one.
