Sorry, but your wrong. Mythbusters debunked the power windows vs. manual windows in a submersion test a long time ago. The pressure of the water prevents rolling down the windows with a manual crank just like an electric. But the question I have to ask is why does this scenario concern anyone? How many people really get trapped underwater in their cars and drown?
That's a 20-year round trip for radio communications, sure... but we are currently capable of communicating with "such a distant places" (sic). We have been for the better part of a half a century.
I agree with the point of your post, but telephones were not the first examples of common carriers. Things like buses, trains, and ships were common carriers long before the telephone.
Yes, this order dictates the actions of subsequent presidents, just like Bush's executive order did. It does nothing to prevent subsequent presidents from writing a new executive order.
...I smash off your rearview mirror, then beat it to smithereens against your car. If that doesn't sink in the right way, then I smash your window with it. Any funny moves from there, and you've got a guy wearing body armor and a helmet ripping, punching and choking you. Wearing gloves that cover fingerprints...
The major ISPs don't have common carrier status, nor do they want it. Google the telecommunications act yourself to understand why they're classified as data carriers and not communication carriers.
If your ISP NAT'd your connection, and provided you with a 192.168.x.x address, could you still run a web server? (an honest question, I wouldn't know how to do it)
While I agree with the rest of your comment, the Challenger failed when the o-rings exceeded their their thermal design limit. The engineers understood this risk, but the mgmt system in place at the time let the launch proceed.
Wow, you might want to check your facts... "Most DNA fingerprints are quoted as 1 in million to 1 in billion"
The odds that are quoted are based entirely on the number of base pairs compared in the two samples and can easily exceed one in hundreds of billions. I'm too lazy to post a link to wiki, go confirm it yourself. Please.
Try a little math on your argument... You're saying that ISPs should reduce the price of internet service by 90% to 95% of their customers?!? Wow, it's amazing what the mods consider insightful these days!
How, exactly does a non-mechanical typing system (like a computer) achieve either or both of those goals, over a good, old-fashioned metal, essentially fail-proof typewriter?
Not a flame, just a correction... the AppleTV supports WPA encription as well as WEP, and has for years. See http://www.engadget.com/2007/04/05/apple-tv-review/ .

I have a robot at home that vacuums for me, .... This actually represents the peak of our robotics technology at this time.
I wasn't aware that a Roomba represented the peak of robotics technology at this time. :)
Based on what metric? US life expectancy is lower and infant mortality is higher than either country.
you'd be wrong about that... http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview/id/298266.html

Radio communication was invented in 1960?
So why buy the Toyota? It's a luxury compared to a moped, or taking public transportation. Do you buy name-brand jeans? Toothpaste?

But I actually called AT&T and talked to the apple rep and BEGGED for an option to turn off 3G,
You mean like "Settings, General, Network, Enable 3G"?
Trivial to comment, trivial to compile, but not so trivial to load. The OS must be signed to load on the hardware.
Got a source for this? I can't believe that one in fifty cattle in the US has Salmonella.

And I just run over you with my car... jeesh.

Comcast does not have common carrier status, nor do they want it. ISPs are classified as information services, not telecommunication services.

Bzzzt. Sorry to disappoint, but not voting does not 'illegitimize' the law. If I don't vote FOR taxes, does that mean I don't have to pay them?

Well, that's 40 seconds of my life I'll never get back.
Offtopic???? do the mods have NO sense of humor?
