The people at the top of those buildings were some of the wealthiest people on the planet
WTF?!? The people I worked with on the 97th floor of 1 WTC were working stiffs like you & me, not "some of the wealthiest people on the planet". So were the people on 96, 95, 94, 93, 98, and 99. There were no "multi-millionaires" among them. (The multi-millionaires in the firm I worked for then stayed in the Midtown Manhattan office. WTC was for back office staff only.)
Consider for a moment what environment this amendment was written in: the framers of the Constitution were essentially planning treason against the Crown. Without the right to own firearms, there would have been no Revolutionary War because the only people that could possibly have fought would have been the British Army....makes for a very short Revolution, don't you think?
Wasn't the Constitution written after the end of the Revolution? Nullifies this argument.
I've always defined a smartphone as something I can sync to my computer - Blackberry, iPhone, WinMo, Android, Pre, others. While my LG Rumor can send and receive e-mail, and I can use it to view my GCal and Yahoo calendars, I can't sync the phone to my computer to keep a local copy.
Did you ever see the Let It Be film? He recorded the solo for "Let It Be" (the song) with a Telecaster. Although you're right, "Rickenbacker" is the first guitar that comes to mind when most people think of George.
Except for all the Gretsches. I think of Rickenbackers more for John Lennon...who, as I now recall, also played a Les Paul Special for a while in the '70s.
F5 is the standard refresh key in Windows and every other program I've used... but in Notes, F5 is the "lock interface" key. F9 refreshes.
[F9] has been Lotus's Refresh key since 1-2-3 r1. It's consistent in their world. I don't have Excel/Win in front of me (working on my Mac), but I think [F9] is the Refresh key in Excel too (well, Recalculate, anyway).
Owning both a Civic and a Prius myself, the Prius is certainly the better car. Not only does it average about 66% better mileage (about 30 mpg average for the Civic vs 50 mpg on the Prius on my commute) and has demonstrably better emissions
Is the Civic also a hybrid? 'Cause 30mpg for a Civic Hybrid is kinda lame. We're at 47mpg overall since we bought ours a year ago.
We test-drove a Prius, and didn't like it. Dashboard and console were too complicated, and impossible to see out the back window at speed (is that a cop? is it a taxi?). Civic was much more civilized. As always, though, YMMV (especially in this case).
American units can't convert a measurement of time to a measurement of length.
Isn't a second a subdivision of a degree? Assuming you know your latitude, you should be able to calculate how many feet are between location XXYY'ZZ" and XXYY'AA", no?
my yahoo account was established over 10 years ago, so plenty of time has passed for spammers to find my account.
I've had a Yahoo! account since it was Rocketmail, and maybe I'm also "blessed" but the spam filter works really well for me. Maybe it's because I know enough to not give that address out to all and sundry.
My only issue is that sometimes things are flagged as spam that really aren't. I've had to keep the Bulk folder active so that I can periodically scan through it to see if any real mail is in there. Well, that and the fact that I hate the "New! and Improved!" interface.
one thing apple has gotten right w/ their 'baby' apps. W/ iweb/keynote/pages
You've never actually used Keynote or Pages, have you? They're hardly "baby apps". Keynote is at least as rich as Powerpoint, and Pages is a good compromise between Word and Publisher. I've used Pages for the past two years to create catalogs. We all know how Al Gore uses Keynote.
Well, Fire and Water made it to #2 in the UK.

Don't talk about things you have no knowledge of.
Could you please explain what a "faux-retro American sedan" is?
Your wish is my command.

I did. Found two.

played a SG on Cream
Wasn't called an SG then; Gibson still called it a Les Paul. That body shape wasn't called an SG until later.
That list forgot Leslie West and his Les Paul Junior.
All solid bodies are are descended from THE Les Paul.
Not the Telecaster...
Pick a side! We're at war!
This didn't pick up my [colbert] tags...damn Slashcode...

Maybe you never used Windows 3.x, but there was no Wordpad until Windows 95.
You do realize that every toolbar button is a duplication of a menu choice, don't you?
I feel so old, remembering that the exact quote is "DOS ain't done 'til Lotus won't run".
(Sorry, been having a bad day.)
Huh? NYC sales tax is (a href="http://www.nyc.gov/html/dof/html/business/business_tax_nys_sales.shtml">8.375% . Explain, please.
Considering that Star Trek started 3 years after Doctor Who, wouldn't that be the other way 'round?

Alec Guinness starred in a movie about this in 1951.

"Baby apps". Hmph.
