It has already been said above, but for those that didn't see it there here it is again. I have one of these, I pre-ordered early on. It is very pretty and is packaged well, but the compatibility sucks, the cart slot is tight as can be and there is a sticker, yes a paper sticker, on the back that says not to remove it to reduce risk of fire and electrocution if you don't have the right hookups for it.
I'm totally behind the idea that the GenNEX seems to to have come from, I really wanted to be happy with what I bought, but it doesn't deliver on its promise. You are MUCH better off buying a reconditioned NES toaster model off of eBay or reputable people that service NESs.
I thought that MS was going to try and win over some gamers in Japan this time around... that lineup for launch will likely only perpetuate their being the but of jokes in Japan as none of that is going to sell a system or get people excited there.
This has happened to many times (dreaming about video games/not being able to get them out of your head when you close your eyes) The worst or best such occasion for me was I was playing Robotron for a few hours with the lights out while drinking and when I stopped all that I saw when I closed my eyes was the Brain/Woman level... crazy stuff!:D
Well, not the original, it was a EA game if I remember correctly, but I would love to see a similar football game for the current systems... or a parody of the NFL as mentioned for that matter. The standard sports games have become pretty stale in my opinion so I would love some variation that just made fun of football stereotypes, had mutant player and let you design your own players! Go for it Sega/ESPN!
Yea, I am sure that the developers could easily do their own thing with this now using their own story/characters... but, I think the point of the whole project was that they really loved the Chrono Trigger game/world/characters/story and wanted to work with that material. The video really shows how awesome this project could be if it were to ever be completed. This looks MUCH more appealing to me than anything Square has come up with since FFX and it actually looks better than FFX as well. It seems to do a good job of capturing what made the game magic on the SNES in 3D. Something that hasn't been done yet by Square as much as I like FF 7,9 and X.
Eh... I wasn't saying that, I love PHP! Use it every day. I am sure that PHP 4 will get alot more use for most before they start in on 5. I know that is how it will more than likely play out where I work.

There is some really good stuff on this site... enjoy if you have the time to plow through it. I have about 60 remixes that I enjoy from this site.
I have to agree with this and add that even if this game is very popular and inspires more KoF or other SNK games move to 3D, I seriously doubt that it will signal the end of the 2D KoF games. If anything the success of this game (assuming that it is a success) would probably make the 2D versions of the game even more popular as players that didn't know it was still going would be likely to get into the 3D version and then want to check out all the other KoF games they have been missing out on.
That is referring to the AES cart. The AES is the home Neo Geo system. The MVS is the Arcade system. They are basically the same, but their carts are incompatible with out a converter. From what I have seen there is a converter to play MVS carts on the home system but there is no such converter to play the home games on the MVS. Hope that helps...
At least that is part of the real reason surely...
But that hardware has been out of date for quite a while now, like since the day that the PS1 was launched. So I doubt that is really the only reason they are switching. That said there alot of great games and alot of great gameplay on the NeoGeo so don't think I am dogging out the system at all. If they could stick with the NG and make any money I am sure that they would. Even worse than MAME for them is the copy cat boards and carts of their games that are out ther. They never released a SVC:Chaos MVS cart. Just JAMMA PCB, but look on eBay and you can buy the cart...

And here I was coming to defend my post as not being a troll :D

http://www.atari.com/us/games/atari_flashback/7800 Not bad, but I don't really dig the game selection.

...but who will use it for another year or two?

You mean Splatterhouse, not Slaughterhouse...
The Master System didn't sell so well at all here in the US... BUT It did even worse in Japan.

Doh! Who knows! I stand both corrected and correct! ;)

The NeoGeo MVS was 24-bit not 16 if I remember correctly... Looking forward to the game on the atomiswave (or whatever it is called) :)
Bah! Pants in the office! Only in winter, dammit!
