    Before you know it we will have sarin producing dandelions and botulism producing crabgrass. Once the gate is open who know what comes thru.

    How about a plant that produces prions, the malformed proteins that cause CJD. A single grain of rice would be more than enough to kill you (in the long term). Prions are heat stable and would survive the cooking process quite nicely.

    If it can be done, it will be done.

    This is a common misconception.

    If you perform this experiment, the act of observing the cat/toast causes the quantum state to collapse. Only unobserved cat/toast is theorised to maintain it's quantum state in the form of lobes of probability. As we cannot observe this without collapsing the state, it remains only theory.

    99.99% of calls turn out to be user mistakes.

    One of the developers at work tried to report a bug to Microsoft, who wanted to charge us $299 for the privilege. She told them to 'go fuck themselves'. Does this count as a 'user mistake'?

    True they may have a new package for some of the processors to fit a new slot or modified mb chipset, but that is nothing new, we don't just chuck out all the old work when something new comes along.

    Shhh! Quiet, or I won't be able to pick up free computers from work in the next upgrade.

    An example is chicken pox - once you get it, your exposed to the antigens and your body can rapidly respond if exposed to it again so you only get the chicken pox once (most of the time.

    I know a person (who I believe to have a normal immune system) who has had chicken pox 6 times.

    Having contracted chicken pox as an adult (and suffering increased symptoms as a result) I pray that I will only ever get it once. Never have I wished to be dead more that when I had it.

    Um, customers.

    I know that it's a chicken and egg thing, but while there aren't paying customers using linux already for gaming there won't be game developers writing for the platform.

    Might be moderated as funny, but a 64MB Pentium III box with some old NVidia 3D chip is fairly low end these days.

    I suggest NOT matting it, as the choice of mat depends on the picture, and if it's changing pictures...

    Bevelled white or cream matt, you can't go wrong. Orientation is more of an issue than the colour of the matt, as you ideally want a slightly larger width on the bottom edge of the matt to visually anchor it.

    Yet the price of the game is still the same if not higher.

    But the hardware isn't getting any cheaper to make. All the consoles are sold at a loss and the money is recouped via game sales - hence, cheaper media may not neccessarily mean total costs are any lower.

    Truth is, while there are scum lawyers, there are also lawyers protecting our rights, EFF and every other non-profit group has lawyers.

    Speaking from Australia, we have lawyers too. We don't have the problems you do because we don't have the culture of 'sue' for stuff like 'my coffee is too hot and it burnt me' and 'these scissors stabbed me when I ran with them'.

    There is nothing wrong with lawyers per se, they will do what is in the best interests of the client. If the law/judicial system doesn't prevent frivolous law suits then that is where the fault lies.

    I seriously doubt that a device that is intended to replace hand cranking would benefit from being hand cranked.

    To be frank, I would be more interested in models that are petrol driven.
