There has been alot about microsoft buying giant, and people have been saying it will be a homerun since Giant's program is so good. However, due to licencing, they are going to make a whole new program soon. Then we can get back to all Microsoft products being bloated.
This is the best arguement against the crappy public school system I have eve heard.
As a current high school student, I can second this fully. I dont learn a SINGLE usefull thing in there, cept for math (only because I'm going to be a programmer).
Why would a company NOT want their box to be hackable? Nerds will love it, tell thier non-nerd friends, and since the nerd is respected, it will be taken as truth. It is sad I know more about marketing than most companies seem to.
Of course, this will not let you transfer recorded shows to other computers on the the network. MythTV is currently the only "media hub" that does not have copy protection, or give away freedoms in any way.
It would be nice if Slashdot would get an "Edit Post" feature, it could allow you to change just one word and it would show the old word in gray and in quotes. Sounds like a solution to me.
Charter is owned by Paul Allen, maybe this had something to do with it. Alen has loads of cash to back Charter up, he might of even been the person to say "no"
Wow, a judicial body who knows that freedom is important. Don't see this in the Executive or Legislative branch.
Why? The Judicial branch is mostly the only form of government that is not corrupted. They don't take bribes like Senators and the Executive branches do. This allows them to speak sense without restriction. This is a rare example of how the United States is supposed to function; it is a little glimpse into our great paste. Savor in this moment people, for it is rare.
This is a company who INNOVATES! We don't see this these days; companies sit on their old products and business models without feeling the need to invent new things. I believe this says allot about Michelin, and they have earned some respect from me today.
My first computer was a desktop (computer on side) Pentium. It was the first time I used a computer, and my dad just gave me it. Yes, I owned my own computer when I was 5. At first I didn't know what the hell to do (DOS...) then Windows 3.1 came along. That was cool. I got this cool railroad game and I was hooked on computers. At first I needed to ask my dad for help but by around 9 I could do everything on my own. I started building a website when I was 7, full of pictures of my favorite animals. Since my dad owned a hosting company (still does) he could host it on his server and would let me use domains that people didn't want anymore. My life was now the computer, that was all I did. I at most I would have 1 friend at a time. I would sit for hour and hours working on my website and playing that damn railroad game.
Maybe because of the computer, or maybe not, I was in deep depression by 2nd grade. Yes, 2nd grade. You think kids dont know about death? I contemplated suicide...at 3rd grade. I wasn't sure how but I quickly learned.
Now with at least 7 different medications I am now one of "cool" smart people in highschool. I have never attempted suicide, but I'm still one fucked up person.
Just a warning to anyone giving kids their computers at 5....
As a slightly-better-than-the-average-pirate, I can second this observation. You think I PLAY all the games I pirate? You think I watch ANY of the movies I get? It is all about the collection, and being able to provide at a whim. Want to play Rome: Total War? Ok, wait 2 minutes while I load the cd images into Daemon Tools and install. Want to see the Hulk? Ok, wait 2 minutes while I stream it out to my living room computer. I built a comptuer with half a terrabyte of memory just to hold my downloads.
Its about knowing you CAN, not that you ever will.
A large nuke can still reach 25 miles inland. Even worse if you drop it a few hundred feet, then you get a tsunami. That would suck, as we now see in southeast asia.

Leo is my hero.
He did a WHOLE DAY dedicated to IDE! That was one of the best shows I have ever, ever seen. Good computer info, now he just get all this gaming crap. Hey, I'm a huge gamer, but talking about computers wouldn't hurt.
You can tell they just got a few source graphics and threw the Microsoft logo in, the color scheme does not work at all.

All they did was buy the company, reskin the program, and turn around and offer it for free. They have not had a chance to screw it up...yet.

Google it if you want to know more.
I have never seen that style used in a video before. I'm assuming its drawn or do that use an ultra-special post-processor?
The aperature is too damn small, everything comes out grainy, blured, and the quality is just plain crappy.

Save them from a life of isolation and not getting laid...ever.
If you watch the video, it says www.redvsblue.com See it here: http://www.roosterteeth.com/archive/download.php/? id=499
Since these will be flown in areas that aircraft are banned, wont you need a huge network of high tension lines to get the energy anywhere.
Get ol' Ben to hold on to this kite...
If you people dont reconize this, this is from a video Red vs Blue did. Insanely funny.
Because we ALL know how FAST freenet is!
Its about knowing you CAN, not that you ever will.
You ALWAYS have a huge 4 inch logo for cingular on your screen and there are billboard ads everywhere. Fricken nightmare.
Because the US can't stand reusing anything, we have to buy the latest and greatest, even if we already have somehting that can do it cheaper.
