Haven't read it but it's not that of a far fetched/fridge nuking/shark jumping scenario. George Bush Sr. was a pilot in the armed forces, then an agent, then a president.
They are going to be sorely nonplussed when they find out my payments to a Reykjavik account have nothing to do with wiki-leaks but instead deal with spreadsheets in space (aka Eve Online)
Just a note that these phone colors are exactly the same colors that are on the gym shoes (bright full colored pastels/neons) the girls on campus are wearing. They just showed up this semester.
Don't envy them too much. There is a high value placed on text messaging, response time and if something seems off then the analysis of what was said, when, how gets flayed out like an anatomy lab with the closest friend/clique. I have watched this phenomena play out the last 3.5 years and I always pity the fool who screwed up a response.
Of course people should get paid if they were promised an internship but end up doing menial labor. But they have a simple solution: they can just walk away from their unpaid internship without losing anything. If you voluntarily stay in an unpaid internship, presumably you are getting something out of it.
The insidious effect of this rule will be to place organizations providing good unpaid internships at a much higher legal risk, because the organizations that provide them now have to worry about getting dragged into court by a disgruntled intern for back pay. That not only means they are going to be less likely to have interns in the first place, it also means that interns who can't clearly contribute at a high level from day one have to be kicked out right away.
Negative. What this means is that internship offerings will have to be more concrete in what the learning outcomes will be and also not replace low skill work (e.g. go clean the bathroom - unless you are in zoology and it's animal bathrooms) for interns . Will there be less offerings? Maybe a little but the internships that do stay will be more valuable for both the student and business in the end.
Think of the children. It only takes one failed attempt at a child/teen trying to notify parents that she is in a bad situation for this to get flushed down the toilet. It will suck because it will be a reactive reversal of this policy and some one will have to suffer. 911 call centers are starting to accept 911 texts in acknowledgement that a call instead of a text is a bad idea when one is hiding during a home invasion.
I just realized another thing. The only time I play on a console is when the internet is down in my area for my PC MMO games. Guess I'm not the intended audience either.
This really sucks for those who go to places with lack of communication infrastructure. e.g. military, rural areas with electricity but no internet backbone. Obviously they are not the "intended" audience.
Do something.. but do something that is relevant. Have them work on a project that will either make the students life easier or assist in making their voice heard. Mobile apps might be a good start.
It's less about Kim and more about the elements that come into play in a seizure of tech/files. If Slashdot uses any cloud services or other tech that accesses/points to files then this is relevant to our issues. This also deals with international laws and how they are enforced between jurisdictions. Not many people like Larry Flynt but there is value in seeing how his story played out, the same goes for Kim.
Episode IV as I'm sure you already uses both the word droid and R2's name as well. I guess you could call him an R2 unit in place of 'droid but where does that leave 3pO?
How does dubbing a movie that has nothing to do with Navajo culture help preserve Navajo culture? Not trying to troll, I am asking honestly. It seems a bit insulting, the insinuation being that the whole of their culture is distilled down to their native language.
Not trolling at all-- that's a good question. My thought is that limiting the use of Navajo to the ceremonial marginalizes it to be used only in ritual form. By finding "everyday uses" for it, such as in movies, people form a much more functional use for the language.
I did a paper on Native American Religions. One thing I discovered is that the Cherokee nation has assisted Apple in creating syllabry to be utilized in Appe’s mobile and computer operating systems.

I stopped playing when they introduced "dailies". I don't like the idea of a treadmill. I play EvE online - there's a treadmill but I don't have to witness it for attribute increase (skill points accumulate by passage of time and implant/attribute selection). isk/gold comes from me from either playing the PvE element or using my business acumen and setting up a few sell/buy orders, doing planet interaction (set up once, and a couple of clicks every week), or more interesting methods like monitoring high risk trade routes and becoming the risk, or salvaging a huge battle. You become useful in the game at the start as being a tackler/interceptor for your corporation/squad.
They added the ability to change up your icon locations and pin stuff out of your NeoCon/taskbar. Find it once, pin it to where you want it, done. They still have improvements to be made though.
Join Eve University - They will let you know how to train efficiently. Also if you don't want to look at red crosses fly frigate/ interceptor or assault frigate. They are faster training time frames and more fun anyways. http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Applying_to_EVE_University
When you have zero tolerance policies then rightly or wrongly administrators and educators think they have no agency in the matter. Also educators don't have control of the police force they have welcomed into their own school. *DA's and AGs are political animals in "some" cases and this is just a stepping stone to bigger things so riding rough trod over people's lives will not be swayed.
What happens when the console breaks? An Ars newsie had an interesting journey when he replaced his Wii U since it could not be fixed hopefully those who purchase the new XBox will have a clear understanding of what to expect before purchasing.

What could go wrong? FPS Russia could get a hold of a real one with a machine gun and self destruction charge.

Voyager Janeway, Wonder woman, tons of sci-fi anime.
James Olivia Fehr is a female.
Should be "Land of the Free Home of the Brave." There is also a Bob Dylan/Johnny Cash album of the same title.
2 words. Exponential growth.

I have the second graph in this article posted outside my door. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hype_cycle

If the rural areas combine forces and lay some initial capital then it can be done. See what UK farmers are doing: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-21442348
