You seemed to be saying that to be good at math or science required prodigy (while conspicuously omitting social studies and English, suggesting that anybody can be good at them.
Yep, your beliefs are your own. Of course, if you spout them without any sort of backing beyond your own belief, I hope you aren't surprised when people point out that you're crazier than a Scientologist.
Come on. It has nothing to do with being a prodigy.
Different people are good at different things. I was never particularly good in English, but I don't go around saying the only people good at it are geniuses.
I won't deny that people in the USA are probably more trusting than South Africa, but South Africa doesn't rate very high on my list of open countries, y'know?
Allow me to make a correction - nowhere in the Bible does it actually say black people are to be put to death.
It does say that about gays. In short: yes, the Bible is hate literature - but I doubt very much that the gummint is going to go around burning Bibles.
We've had anti-hate speech laws on the books for decades. Why is it suddenly an issue now that you're not allowed to hate gays?
(for example: Ham was once used as a biblical example of why white people are superior to blacks (and probably still is by some people). by the exact same "the sky is falling" token, the Bible could have been banned. the problem isn't with the literature, it's with interpreting it to mean hateful things)
You do know that it is possible to listen to music without first burning it to CD, correct?
(personally, I consider my hard drives to have a much longer lifespan than any CD - even if they don't physically, because it is very easy to copy them over. that and I'm obsessive about data.)
Ahh, I'm sorry. Perhaps I misinterpreted.

But when you're in school you generally don't know whether you're going to be a painter or an engineer.
And if you assume that you're going to be a painter (and take only basic maths) you're going to have a hell of a time learning calculus later on.
Basic math and english? So you don't think having some sort of idea about history is important to living in a democratic society?
Maybe this explains a certain mindset in a certain country (yeah, you know which one I'm talking about)
Throw away tractors - bring back oxen and handplows.
Tell it like it is, brother!
Yay, first ever troll rating.
I feel somehow fulfilled.
etc. etc. etc.
It's not about bundling, it's about not being able to remove IE without trashing your OS.
What country passed a law about turning people into insects?
I didn't much like the article either, but I voted +1 FP because I expected the discussion to be interesting.
Isn't that kind of the point of having a computer to do it for you?
Nah, I was thinking something more like a regular case but built of sturdy corrugated cardboard.
That article was just kind a pointless "gee-whiz" thing.
I said (nt) dammit!
It would be even better if it was a "tab a into slot b" thing that could be easily taken apart and reassembled.
Wind power? In Cowtown?
I'm kind of ashamed now. Deadmonton's LRT is a creaky 30 year old thing.
We have more than one, you know.
HAW HAW HAW! Hey ma, look at that foreigner! He done don't know how taw spell!
