    Where did I state that I'm new? :)

    I am just wondering why Gentoo (which I use) put 2.6.4 in the "~x86" architecture when all "emerge development-sources" does is download and extract.

    How do they get by making them experimental? How is this ebuild any different than the 2.6.3 ebuild? All it does is download and extract the archive. You still have to configure and install yourself.

    Maybe they can track it with Bill Gates's famous "email tracking" technology that was tested several years ago and is continually tested today.

    SCO has a "special" licensing cost for companies who license other non-UNIX-like operating systems. For each Linux tax, they charge $43 million. So MS bought 2 licenses.

    Microsoft quote to CNet:

    Microsoft did not fund BayStar. Microsoft funded an employee, who then funded BayStar. They are covering their money trails.

    Microsoft answers a couple questions and then "declines to comment". We know Microsoft is not lying here. CNet asked the perfect question, as now we know Microsoft employee(s) funded BayStar to fund SCO.

    I believe Gentoo 2004a does. Before that, it was as easy as "emerge development-sources", configure, build, copy to "/boot", and configure grub.

    Apache isn't GPL'ed. It is ApachePL'ed, which I believe allows the closing of source and distribution.

    Couple mistakes...

    First, there are 4 Commonwealths as far as I know. So how many states are there? 46. A nice trick question. Virginia, Penn., and Mass. are three, but I can't remember the third.

    Second, Penn State is in State College (a full hour from Harrisburg). You have to stress that it is out in the middle of nowhere.

    Third, we are known for our football team, even when they suck. :P

    In what industry in the U.S. can you pay "highly educated workers" minimum wage? Why should programmers (scientific/mathematic people) be paid $5.15/hr?

    I say, let them pay their way through the political process so they can outsource our jobs. Then they can pay people oversees, realize that to keep their productivity, they'll have to hire 20 programmers to do one's job, and then come begging back with more money.

    These companies are not looking long term. First they tried customer support oversees and now they are trying programming. I've never seen a degree, Computer Programming. It is Computer SCIENCE, not Computer Copy/Paste. Thought and innovation is involved. You don't see R&D being outsourced very often, because it would be stupid. It requires smart people. As does Comp Sci (at least for real projects).
