Yes Apple is DRM's biggest backer, then again Apple's DRM is the only DRm that is constant among all songs. Windows DRM can change per player, musician, studio, or even CD. If you have to have DRM then Apple's is certainly better than anyone else's.
Now the only thing better would be no DRM at all. I can't see that happening as long the RIAA exists. How else could they afford to pay to make more Britney's, and Spice Girls?
Till then I will boycott music from non independent sources.
so out of 10 days in this month so far only 4 have been Apple security bugs. So far 40% have been holes that are apple's fault.
I don't know about you, but if some one found a bug in Windowblinds, or some other Windows skinning app, and said it was MSFT's fault then I would be suspicious too.
Also there is a bug in VLC. how is a VLC player bug that is also found in the windows and linux versions an "apple" bug.
If it's an apple product by all means go for it. But no one blames MSFT for bugs in Lotus Notes.
you haven't looked at the specs but are dissmissing it because it's an apple product?
Talk about fanboy. Why don't you go take a look at the specs. Apple has built a smart phone that is unique. While I personally won't buy one no matter what the cost, I have to give apple credit. it's an amazing phone with an amazing feature set. No phone made today is an where close in all the features. No interface is as unique. No other phone uses accelerometers to rotate the display on the fly(to watch movies or broswe), or to turn off the display if placed near the face so you can talk with out a glowing face.
Those two features are the kinds of things that set Apple products apart from every day crap. I won't buy one simply because i like simple phones, I don't need a smart phone. Though I might get it for the ipod features.
The prices really aren't that much higher. Cell phones on their own are expensive. The MotoRola razar when it came out was $499. two years later it's down to $150 dollars. Now this is on it's own, with contracts the price falls even farther.
smart phones cost $200 -$400 easy. So while it's higher cost you can rn standard application on it as opposed to Only Wince apps.
I forgot the name of the species of fish but scientists thought it to be extinct. For years the evidence pointed to the fact that the particular fish no longer existed, yet one day a fisherman caught one.
A lack of evidence either way doesn't mean it doesn't exist. There are numerous example of animals that hide first. The possum "plays" dead. An animal intelligent enough to hide from other species isn't unheard of. Given the right locations on earth, two mountainous and relatively uninhabited area's. It is possible a yeti, and big foot exist.
of course that being said I won't believe it until I see it, but that doesn't mean it's impossible, just improbable. That's a huge difference.
what would be nice is if Apple either offered a stand alone version of.Mac syncing. or a low cost version that doesn't include idisk, and a couple of the other features.
I don't want a total backup solution as I have an external firewire drive. All I want is a way to keep my mail, and address book in sync.
My sister lives in downtown Boston, Her apartment would be flooded out in such a rise of water. I have a cousin in California who would also be directly affected.
It's not that I don't care about the lives that would be lost, I am saying that the CO2 emissions have only sped up a naturally occurring process. A process that would happen anyway. And whether the lives lost are ones you personally know or not is the only deciding factor to worry about. It could happen tomorrow or in 500 years. either way it will happen.
You can't blame an SUV for something that is going to happen either with or without the SUV.
You have missed the point. The ice caps will melt no matter what we do. They were melting before the industrial revolution. If the Shelf was 3000 years old that means it has melted before. 6000 odd years ago the bible tells the story of Noah, and a Giant flood. Maybe 6000 years ago an ice shelf in that location also snapped off and melted flooding the earth. Over time it reformed, and it is snapping off again.
6000 years ago that ice shelf didn't snap because of the SUV I was cruising round in.
Yea but with SciFI in charge your going to get 8 seasons with the last four poorly done, and the last season with a cliff hanger, like farscape did because it was forced to end to early.
though I do like this season more so than the last. I do hope tough that they end it sooner rather than later. I also hope Caprica deals with the creation of the cylons it's a good way to continue the story without repeating the same old story lines.
So NY and london get their subways cleaned up from the filth. The cities will first erect damns and walls. Then the people will move out. The cities will die, but new ones will be built.
it's called the circle of life. Birth, growth, spouse children, death, and then the children go on. Cities do the same thing. isn't amazing that the cities that have lasted the longest are the farthest from rising waters? Rome, Jerusalem, Beijing
Wow it must be a conspiracy or something. should I blame the aliens, Atlantian's, or the illumanti?
sometime around 800, france was so hot that it's wine wasn't very good, and England was just warm enough to make it's wine better than France's.
That was my point. apparently I was being too subtle for you. That England has been that warm in the "recent" past. While CO2 emmissions might be speeding up the normal cycle, fact is that weather temperatures go up and down. if the ice shelf is 3000 years old then it's younger than the pyramids and younger than the jewish religion.
let's put it into perspective shall we.
So ancient jews weren't civilized? or do you mean technologically advanced? There is a difference. I will assume you meant they weren't technologically advanced.
that's my thought. a 1300 years ago it was so warm in England that english wine was better than french wine. I am not going to worry about Global warming until that happens again.
So the ice shelf is 3000 years old. That means 4000 years ago it was so warm that it couldn't form.
you forgot an important part. To date only some 500 people have actually made it up to space. It's not that people aren't interested but they would rather go themselves.
More people are excited about sub orbital flights for the everyday person than about a manned moon or mars mission. Why? because more people will be able to actually go.
The stars are cool, I would love to wander around. But fact is it would take years just to get to mars wander around and come back now. They are talking about a roughly two-three year mission. With two nine month long flights of doing relatively little.
That's the real world version of manned mars mission. They will wait till mars is close enough for a "short" flight of only nine months.
It's not an answers site per se. Just by typing in your question into the standard google search box, the way it queries it looks for all the words first. making such a simple question the most relevant of answers.
Of course search's should work like that. no complex search terms just ask it what you want. I routinely type in the name of what i am looking for, and then add wiki. wikipedia results are in the top 5 then. Plus you find so random wiki's that don't normally show up.
My dodge stratus was 2-5 mg higher than what was posted. Whiles my liberty only gets it's highway rating while going from gas station to gas station while driving on the highway.
these are only supposed to more accurately reflect real world driving conditions. Fact is while many hybrids get better than average gas millage a lot of them never see the full numbers posted. driving a hybrid optimally isn't how americans drive.
Are you sure? Given the number of islands that have come and gone through out the millennia you can't say that.
while I don't believe atlantis was home to some supper advanced civilization I do believe the island itself existed. The details of which is long gone.
close. Ebay is nothing more than an open air flea market. People who try to sell regular goods on ebay become frustrated because ebay is a flea market not a regular store front.
The only two people who really make money off of ebay is Ebay, and the people who sell books on "how to make money off of ebay" Notice those people rarely ever shop or buy on ebay themselves.
I believe it's apple but it could be another company but someone has a patent for inserting a photo receptor along side of LCD color pixels.
by using software to combine the image the screen could literally be the camera.
Good for video conferencing, useful for general security(bars and vegas could suddenly have more camera's at various angles at their disposal), totally 1984.
current *nix filesystems have the user just like any other piece of meta data. NTFS doesn't have anything like that in practice. whether it's there or not it's not used by windows. Booting from another disk eliminates all security systems in place for any OS. It's a glaring security problem. it's a point no one has begun working on.
On OS X the root user isn't activated that command can't be given. Ubuntu is doing the same thing. Viruses can't spread that way without a lot of manual input by the user. it's not a task that you can automate. Try it a bunch of people have been that's why after 6 years there has been no self replicating viruses for OS X. just a couple of trojans that can only target one machine at a time.
Also how many window users will give an app full access to install. mac Apps that don't need admin access don't ask for it during install. Yet for some reason MSFT apps for the mac, do need admin access. The difference? Windows Media Player 9 needed admin access to install yet mplayer or VLC don't yet they all achieve the same thing.

Windows only ran on alpha with a special chip installed on the motherboard. that chip wasn't needed for any other OS.
I know I have physically held an Alpha motherboard in my hands, the chip itself was labeled something along the line of windows compatiblity.
Windows has never run on straight alpha processors.

the spruce goose flew though. It wasn't official because it hadn't been cleared for flight but it did fly.
The A380 is just on perpetual back order.
what's odd is that some will rise.

Well the smartest move I made was to get my passport 18 odd months ago. that gives me 8 years to find a solution to this headache.
with 100 cores, one would assume that they would develop several for more specialized tasks.
Say a bunch that are basically GPU, some that deal with physics well, some that do great with protien folding(BPU?)

no but Iam getting 10-20 emails daily for Windows Vista ultimate downloads and cracks.
Deutsche Bank AG I believe is one of the people who said SCO's stock price would go to $45 a share.
there would of been no arm twisting there.
