    seriously, 60 isn't the end of the world, and you can't deny someone health care based on age. remmeber YOU will be that age one day to. lets see if you change your tune when it happens.

    if a person wants to pay for their own health care and fight cancer to the end then fine, they have been paying into health insurance for decades by that time so they deserve that right.

    I used to work in health care, and if you think you can put a price on any part of your body that would compensate you for it's loss, your sadly mistaken.

    i do however agree with you that personal responsibility has a great deal to do with it. far too much is spent on diabeates which is preventable for many people.

    your plan is great in theory, however in the real world perfectly healthy people get sick and require hospital care which would chew up your $10,000 in the first week.

    this is what health insurance is for.

    your only 1/2 right about the state breaking the health care system. believe it or not, their ARE things where free markets do not work, and health care is one of them. reason being that health care doesn't deal in money, it deals in peoples health which is priceless. all the typical measures used in a free market don't apply to health care. the only way to fix health care is to find a way where making money comes 2nd to treating peoples problems.

    there is also a LOT of waste in health care, we could probably start by looking at that

    its already been established that the virginia kid never played any video games, so why they fuck are they reacting like this? what a bunch of dickheads. if the kid WAS an unstable nut then maybe, but from what it looks like he's just a typical teenager who thought playing a game with his friends would be novel in a map of his school. i did something similar with quake when i was in school and there weren't any killings.

    i had an account on digg which got banned because i had an argument in a thread with some christian fundy about evolution being a crock. he went sooking to the mods and i got a ban, i emailed and asked why and they sent me a snide little response about how i needed to learn respect, which is ironic considering the tone of thier email.

    i am not shocked by this turn of events at all.

    digg is nothing but a hang out for christian ringwingers and mac fanboys, it's loss with not be mourned on the internet. if you want a decent forum stay on /. (which digg constantly wanted to have penis size contests with anyway) or try fark.com

    you are going by their rating system, which frankly is shit. the only thing that matters is how long since their last accident and how many people died. reason being, that if an airline has 20 crashes, changes managment and doesn't have another one for 50 years, the problems that resulted in those accidents have been fixed and hardly apply to the current airline.

    point in case is qantas which last had an accident in 1951, vs delta which had one in 1996. the qantas as we know it has for all intents and purposes never had a crash, and with over 2 million trips (which is not trivial) i think quite rightly can claim to be one of the safest.

    got any direct proof that it's the case, or are you just making it up as you go? i'm not claiming dirty power plants won't cause respiratory problems, i'm just dubious that it's actually contributing to any in canada. it's more something you find in 3rd world countries. "Investments cost money"

    this isn't an investment, it's a money sink in which people will be paying 8x more for power just to satisfy a few guilt trips.
