Also, who told Wall Street journal about this 3 billion? I didn't see any sources in the article. I think this 3 billion dollar reject sounds fake. Did Facebook report this or did Snapchat make this claim?
Just take a picture with another phone or camera: "dude Tiffany just sent me a snap chat let me borrow your phone before i look at it I'm going to take a picture so she doesn't know I have it!" But the teens dumb enough to send nude photos of themselves are the same ones not smart enough to know people are doing that. All it takes is one kid in a school figuring out to just take photos with another device and the entire school will stop using snapchat, making snapchat not even worth 3 million. It's a fad, it will be gone any day now
Not much of an archive if they delete the past because someone says it should be deleted. Even Wikipedia allows you to go back and see all changes to an article.
I got to say I like physical magazines. Books I can see going since words are words, but there is something satisfying flipping through a magazine and looking at the pictures and ads that you don't get from a touchscreen.
Blockbuster could have succeeded had they made the correct decisions in the early 2000s. They could have started with DVDs by mail and then offered streaming like Netflix did and still kept their stores. There is still a gaping hole for video game rentals. Redbox offers a extremely limited selection of console games, and no one offers 3ds or Sony Vita games to rent except by mail from Gamefly. But even games will probably become download only in the future, only question is what pricing model will survive, the $1 game from app store or $50 games on consoles?
Gas tanks are barely more than thick plastic, pretty much the same material those red plastic gas cans you use to fill a lawn mower with. If he ran over a steel trailer hitch lying on the highway at 60mph it could puncture anything. Problem is tesla's are a new company using new technology, so we are looking at them harder than if, say, Chevy Volts were bursting into flames.
And those original iPhone buyers brought developers, and those developers created apps that drew more buyers to the iPhone. Now you have millions of apps and hundreds of millions of eager app buyers on iPhone. Which is why people keep buying iPhones, for the apps, and why developers keep making quality apps, for the money.
I wouldn't say the US and Europe are behind. Like you said Asia is a test market so they get the good and the bad. Saying Asia is ahead is like running a beta of windows and saying you're a generation ahead of everyone, just because you're running the beta doesn't mean it's a good thing.
But why remove the Internet? Nintendo receives $10 to download a few megabytes of a game rom? Yes please! Seems allowing people to buy games online is the one thing they should have kept. It's like Apple selling an iPhone that didn't run apps, Nintendo selling a console that doesn't allow customers to buy games online is completely backwards and can only result in less profit for Nintendo.
apple is losing the youth, and doesn't give a shit.
this this this.
Android might get "sales" but only because the buyers can't afford good Apple phones. Even the article shows the free Android phones are "selling" (it's free so not really a sale is it?) much better than the expensive Android phones. The manufactures are really the ones hurting here because while Apple easily sells their $400+ phones the Android smartphones are being given away in a race to the bottom, whoever can give away the best android phone is the winner. But Apple will always be able to offer faster and better phones because they actually make money, not giving them away for free.
And people that can't afford a phone are the same ones that don't want to pay for apps so they pirate Android apps which means Android developers don't make money compared to iOS developers which is why iOS has far more quality games and apps than Android. Even popular freemium games like Clash of Clans go with Apple first because they know people that can afford expensive phones can afford in-app purchases. Clash was on iOS for over a year before Android got a copy.
They don't support having to figure out 10,000 taxing jurisdictions each with their own weird rules.
This x9000.
Back in the day I worked with a company that provided a very popular ecommerce shopping cart that online shops could use to easily peddle their goods online. I remember when they rolled out the ability to charge sales tax and OMG the nightmare it created for support. Because remember, it's not just the State sales tax, often individual cities and counties charge a tax, AND on top of that tax different items can be taxed at different rates, like alcohol and certain foods. We had a company that would automatically update the database of taxes for everywhere and we allowed the stores to put in their own rates but it didn't stop them from calling non-stop complaining that some places were too low or too high and they didn't want to figure out the rate themselves and blah blah blah
Agreed. I did not buy a Nexus tablet because they do not offer a card slot. Apple can do this because they at least offer 64gb and the new iPads offer 128gb. Being stuck with 32gb or less is absurd considering the power these devices have, like owning an exotic sports car with a 3 gallon gas tank.
Agreed, and the article was horribly light on details, like how are they planning on powering a device that requires hundreds of watts? Batteries would be dead in minutes unless the plan on strapping car batteries to their backs. This won't go anywhere and whoever gave them money clearly has never used a peltier cooler before.
/. bashed Apple when Jobs was alive. But I do agree that Jobs gladly spent the time and money making every product the best on the market and charging extra for it, so if you were buying Apple at least you knew you were getting a good product. I hope Apple continues that tradition. The maps fiasco happened shortly after his death so I think that would have happened no matter what and the 5s is just the 5 that is revamped and Jobs oversaw the development of the 5. The iPhone 6 being released Fall 2014 is what will be the interesting phone since Jobs had no part of the 6. Will they maintain the high quality we've come to expect? Or will Apple build plastic phones with giant screens like Samsung? Who knows, Apple could do anything on the next generation phone.
Who said we needed classic cars to avoid troublesome software? My new Porche has a manual transmission so unintentional acceleration is impossible, but it still has all the airbags and r
That's why I find this whole story suspicious, because there's plenty of bashing of apple products going on on the forums. Why they would censor complaints of only this issue seems strange and highly unlikely
Over-react much? I have iOS 7 on an iPad, no problems with wifi. Also run a 15,000 member apple community and haven't heard any wifi complaints. I think this "angry mob" is just a angry man. Apple has no reason to censor anything, there's lots of complaints on the forums already
Businesses that really need the loan can't get loans, and businesses that don't need a loan do qualify, but isn't they true with everything? People that really need a house (homeless) can't qualify for a mortgage, person that needs a good job can't get one because they're not qualified, etc. I'm simplifying it, obviously there are people that are qualified just like businesses that need loans do get loans, but you get the idea
Being enslaved sounds worse than dying

Where is the Nexus 5 half the price? Everyone is selling the Nexus 5 for $350 with contract while the iPhone 5s is $200 with contract.

"It's our service, and the word 'potentially' covers our asses just fine thank you, deal with it."
That's like saying someone potentially does sexual things to goats. Pretty sure that's still libel unless they have proof.

So the iPhone 5s is faster and cheaper? That's a first for Apple isn't it?
