Do you know how to take apart and rebuild your car? Your DVD player? Your fridge? Didn't think so. Then why do people like you insist that everyone that goes near a computer be able to compile their own kernel?
Things do not need to be open to be good. I think closed, fixed consoles make for better games in the long run. This is just an elitist attitude most likely born from being annoyed that console now get as many or more AAA titles than the PC. Well, a moderate console game success sells 750,000 - 1,000,000 units and a big PC hit sells 500,000 units. With those numbers why wouldn't devs turn to consoles? Also, it's not just access to the consoel dev tools you'd need, but also access to the source and art for each game. That ain't going to happen and rightly so.
That's a pretty damn clueless argument. How about the fact that a lot of reviewers take price into account when presenting their review. It does make a difference.
It's mostly uneducated opinion based on anecdotal evidence. Hell, if we are going that route I will toss in my $0.02 and add that all the people that I know on Live use it fairly often and love it. It was easy to set up and easy to use. The latest features make it even more appealing. I will be renewing my Live in November for sure.
If you remove the "hip" factor then the iPod is overpriced compared to the competition. There are quite a few portable music players out there that also act as data storage for significantly less money. Why would I want to limit my self to Apple's music store and player?
Wow, that was a nice juicy troll. I have used AMD for years and have no problems to report whatsoever. If you are going to make such a bogus claim at least log in.
Why do so many front page posts have major grammar and readability problems? I couldn't tell from that post what the article was about besides something to do with Microsoft. There are not that many posts per day. Is it so hard to correct a few obvious errors so that we can tell what the articles are about?
If you are really interested in music and audio for games I suggest you check out www.audiogang.org. It's a non-profit organization of game audio pros, programmers, producers and students. It's a great place to learn the ins and outs of game audio.
I'd like to thank the jerks that stole the source code. Also, to those that say it's Valve's fault does that mean if you forget to lock your car doors that I have the right to steal your CD player, cell phone and CDs?
Some people are acting like this is a gift from god that will force Valve to Open Source. Some are saying that it's payback for not making a Linux version. Do you guys actually believe this stuff?
Oh, as for the comments on licensing, it how much of the engine source you get depends on the licensing contract. A blanket statement like "You get it all." is erroneous.
No matter what anyone says this is not a good thing. This kind of things harms game makers and gamers. We now have to wait longer for the game and Valve loses money on R&D and must spend more time and money to change core systems. This is not "Open Source", this is stolen source.
Nope, it's a new engine as you can tell if you look at the way the lighting is done. All the systems were redone. It's even newer than the KotOR engine.

Actually no, it's gibberish. I have paused it on DVD at that frame in different episodes.
I hope to see more spammers and scammers get nailed in the future.
Maybe Sony might have something to say about that? Also, Nintendo is being very "sour grape"-ish about online because they were late to the party.

If you want that flexibility go PC for games. There are many good reasons to limit Xbox online games.

Don't forget Xbox has Live updates. Also, a $200 Xbox looks pretty damn good compared to a $1500 PC.

This is the kind of prejudice we fight all the time in games. Good news is that we are working on a Grammy award for video game music for next year.

Time to invest in aluminum futures?

Only if Valve uses the entire keyspace and that it highly unlikely.
There is NO question that downloading or even linking this code is illegal. Why are people even asking the question?
It's just one chain of many. Now, if Wal Mart reports the same then you have a real number.

I work for BioWare, believe me when I say there will be no PC version.
There will be no PC version.
This is a joke or a troll right? VB in a console game?
