Perhaps since the example applications you mention have frequently exploited macro capabilities? If you want news about garbage, head on over to Microsoft's website and knock yourself out:)
You should be proud that F/OSS is amazing in the fact that is gives folks choice and alternatives to otherwise proprietary and/or costly solutions.
You hate the "fanboys" - I abhor the bigots whom fail to recognize and acknowledge the freedom of choice in the F/OSS "world". Try to embrace that freedom - it's good for the soul.
The poster of this parent comment is simply frustrated that Mac OS X is affected by this vuln (which I didn't know was affected until I read his comment).
However, I have some friends in the IT field that do general contracting (home additions, decks, drywalling, home improvements, etc.). It's apparently lucrative. One friend mentioned he loves it since he's not stuck behind a desk, and he can keep his craftsmanship skills honed.
...to be very valuable at my company - especially for the servers we have that are connected to SAN with Emulex HBA's. Without backporting, we'd spend lots of time hacking the kernels ourselves - which is fun and all - but not when project owners want their environments built yesterday.
However, for my own personal systems, I don't favor backporting over a kernel upgrade.
The difference is that this is a wiki. Anyone can update the wiki. Updating LDP docs ain't that easy - and goes through a lot of (and much needed) review cycles which takes quite some time before it is actually published.
This wiki knowledgebase idea is novel, in that it will allow more docs, pushed to the users in much more rapid fashion.
I know I have seen sites offer vids/demos/peresntations in (small footprint) Flash movies. The quality of the movies were more than satisfactory.
...from the previous releases. Looks fantastic - and actually looks like the interface was *thought through*. Good job team.
Good point, however, I had assumed CmdrTaco was leveraging his (infamous) editing trademarks :)

If the former, *sigh*
Sad thing is, you are absolutely right!
(moderators, hello?)
I read that - but why not use existing tools that work rather well? Oh, and I forgot `iptraf` ":)
It's a cute image and all, but come on...As Firefox users, proponents, and hackers, surely we can do better than that?
Thanks for modding the parent up (informative).

Good point...
The turbine is 1/4 mile from my house - approx., and I can't hear it from here.
I have been up close to the turbine, and the vid. really doesn't capture the hoght level of noise the blades make at close range.
...for the BeOS and Eugenia Loli-Queru flamage to begin.
A local guy filmed it in action, and you can hear just how audible these things really are:7 83.avi>

Either I am BlIND, or the only release of 9.3 available is 9.3.0beta2.

"cease to exist" and "not going away" in the same sentence? Novell needs to move out of the SCO state.

Oh great - now I can't SSH into my freeshell.org account. Thanks a lot ;-)
