As for XP, you don't "need" a page file if you've got over a Gig and don't do anything that will come close to the limit. I've removed the page file on all of my systems and been fine (3 Gig Desktop, 2Gig Desktop, & 1Gig notebook). It's an easy way to save some space if you know your limits!
Ahhh I see, you can probably get away with putting in a fake password for the moment then after the install is complete, go in to services (Right click My computer -> Manage, then look for Services) and find and open the BOINC service.
click the "Log On" tab, then select the "Local System Account" option, click apply, ok,etc... You can start the service now, or just reboot and let Windows do it for you.
This will have it run as "SYSTEM" instead of your local account, it's handy for me in a corporate environment where we need to change our passwords now and then.
But I'd highly suggest that you put a password on your account just as a common sense security measure!:)
Simply remove the BOINC item from your Startup menu in XP. It'll ditch the management program and keep the service running (assuming you chose the service option during the install)
I'll say, here in the windows world I have to download it, then install it, then tell it the website of the project, then I have to hit OK. Man I sure wish I had a second degree for that! My brain hurts!
Naturally nothing you've ever bought has died before it's expected lifetime so yes an every 10 years is probably a good time line. As for the children, all children are made of glass today and should be isolated from every potential danger that the world poses to them.
In fact it might just be cheaper to place the children in the child-proof bubble while we go around smashing all of the mercury "laden" CFLs because we are drooling jackasses.
As a card carrying member of the LPoC I plan on it in this election. I still do not view Dion as a proper PM but if it will stop the government from removing our rights it's our duty to perform this act.
I would be surprised if this even gets out of parliament, the NDP, Grits, and Bloc don't exactly tend to fawn over Conservative bills.
In the INCREDIBLY unlikely event that this actually is passed I would be again rather surprised if the senate allows this to become law with the Liberal heavy content.
On to the election which is only a few months away I can't see anyone getting a majority. I still have the feeling that the conservatives will win again but I still think this country is smart enough not to give these bastards a Majority rule.
Wait I know! Mulroney? Nice try on the political slam ass-hat since Harper is squeaky clean eh. But wait, didn't we sign up to Kyoto as well? Harper had no trouble breaking that "required" treaty. Glad that you pick and choose the issues to bitch about.
Really? Are you sure about that? Who the hell else is electable? Dion? I'm a card carrying member of the LPoC and there's no way in sweet hell I want him as PM!!!
People who have had to endure the 30-45 minute uninstalls of any Adobe CS3 product would probably enjoy a welcome reminder of what a proper uninstaller is supposed to do:)
Yikes that's still pretty high Mike. At least from my perspective, my last 3 bills have been about 50$ a piece for a 1400sq/ft house.
But in my case with no family to have the lights on for constantly nor do I need my TV running for several hours a night (barring a Sens game night).
I've flipped most of my non-dimming lights to CFL's, I rarely use my desktop anymore I'm usually using the notebook which saves a boatload of energy. The rest of the house is on power bars to eliminate that "Phantom" draw.
Try buying a Watt meter to see what other appliances/devices in the house are drawing the extra!
Too bad, it's a wonderful sport, the lockout really killed anything good that was happening in the US. Here in Canada it really didn't matter, we're going to hand the money over in buckets for our hockey.
We're still waiting on one of those US teams to move back to Canada;)
Apologies for apparently not knowing how to work the HTML tags or spell, Jesus this morning sucks lol...
Here>/a>, there's a mention about file systems that will accomadate the problem that SSD drives have. Basically spreading out the bits all over the drive if my interpretation is correct.

Suck it up sally.

That's why saving them up might be better than driving there every time one dies...
Thank Jeebus, I thought I'd have to toss the lava lamp
Home Depot offers a recycling program, that's pretty convenient. And the Mercury FUD has been debunked about a million times here.
This could have been amazing.......

I seem to recall that one of the key XBox guys was one of the key Dreamcast guys. Not sure if it was design or marketing though...........
Not entirely sure if it's dripping with sarcasm or not due to lack of coffee. But it's 'Canada forces nuke reactor back on line.'

And most right-wing nut-jobs cite Rush Limbaugh and Fox News in their wacked out reasoning. Personally I'd call it a fair trade.
All cell phones in the US (maybe Canada I don't know) activated or not have to be able to call out to 911.
Hope that's what you were looking for
Yes it was sarcasm, forgot the "i" tag!
Oh I remember that vividly, and come on wouldn't you be proud if the leader of your country choke slammed a protester?

Jeebus... And I'm going to the States this weekend.. hmmm...
By 2010? How about by the end of the year? Jeeze that's some lack of foresight on their part, a Seagate 1TB is already 347$ at my local shop!

You've been watching some Leafs vs Sens games I see ;)
