Google "Chat" is a protocol much like "SMS". It's not a service in and of itself but the underlying carriage for services to ride on top. Those services should absolutely include encryption but that is not the protocol's job to handle.
"Joe Westby is Amnesty International's Technology and Human Rights researcher"
Sounds like this research should do a little more research.
Regardless if it's $90,000 or $900,000 or $0 doesn't change a thing. I know by word of mouth there are hookers down on Robinson. If I said "hey, I'll give you $90 if you tell me where the hookers are." doesn't make it any less legal for who I am asking to tell me. The hookers are breaking the law, not the guy who knows where they operate.
This case doesn't involve a single reproduction or copy of copyright material. It is simply a link, directions how to get there.
AT&T brought this upon themselves. They HAD to have an exclusive contract to carry the iPhone and now it's time to pay the price.
I find it very hard to give a flip about their strained network when if the iPhone load had been spread across multiple carriers this wouldn't have become an emergency issue for AT&T.

You would think since the submitter referenced Dan Brown in the review, he would have recognized that Digital Fortress, a cryptographic thriller by Dan Brown, was published before this book.
I highly recommend the Mogo as well. I've been using mine for about a year and it's fantastic. It also has a presenter mode that lets me easily run slide shows and includes a red LED pointer.
It's always with my laptop and always ready to use.
60Ghz is available, public and unlicensed. 80Ghz is available, public and requires a license.
I'm using Bridgewave point-to-point radios, 1Gbit Full Duplex that run in the 60Ghz spectrum. I use it for near campus buildings as the range is ~ one mile.
Nice post with an interesting reference. It's a shame all your other replies are are just name callers or blathering fools with no references to back them up.
I don't understand how the USPTO granted a patent that says "This method has been known for some time, but now we just have the capability to do it."
Try this out.
The method to harvest wheat had been known for a long time but was handled in software (human + sickle). The mechanical wheat thrasher was invented and patented using the same method and concept but now in hardware.
Most switches don't use store and forward. That is fairly old switching technology. Most switches (and routers too) use some form of fast packet switching similar to Cisco Express Forwarding (CEF) that reads the first packet of a stream, learns its path through, and all the following packets of that stream are immediately forwarded 'bit by bit'.
Sure I did. I also read how that is one of 3 antenna options. I also made the assumption that any DAP I purchase would be at least 3 inches long and the antenna could be contained in the unit.

That is Firefox's fix. You can set it to display punycode if you choose.
Chrome's fix is available in version 59 which is in Canary currently.
In Firefox / about:config set: network.IDN_show_punycode;true

Of the people, by the people, for the people
Only 14 years from movie concept to reality. Here is a picture of the 'device' used in the movie to walk through virtual file rooms. http://film.virtual-history.com/photo/05/large/05397.jpg

Run smurf tube from all your data / phone / video / audio wall boxes so that you can rewire easily when the time comes (and you know it will).

So, pirating the content is okay but pirating the pirates is only something a dick / numbnuts would do? Your logic is dizzying.
I ran over a Hamster once. It was very depressed...

http://www.sinclair-research.co.uk/products.php?p= 74c527 is self proclaimed "Worlds smallest AM radio". Takes the wind out of the antenna size problem in my opinion.
I would buy almost any DAP that included an AM reciever.
