    Bullshit. Banks are riskier with their customers money because the FDIC will cover the losses if the completely fuck it up. Also, for the same reason consumers don't give a shit what bank they go to, don't do their 'due diligence' work and then wonder why the banking class are all criminals. Please.

    My 1986 325es BMW will easily do 145mph with it's 121hp 180ft/lb motor. And that's assuming that it even has that much power after all it's years of use and abuse. I've gone 153mph in my 1991 325ix which is supposed to have 168hp (not sure of the torque) but it's 4 wheel drive with a heavier drive train. If I had to hazzard an uneducated guess, bmw's were raced and because of homologation rules were geared for a higher top speed. I see no reason for Tesla to add gears that most of their customers will never use.

    Yeah, it's sloppy and these guy's suck, but who would ever know? Why would anyone put a device like this on a network that anybody but them could access? All my shitty linux devices are protected by OpenBSD firewalls.

    If you have to ask slashdot, you are in the wrong job. Seriously. These kind of questions are really starting to annoy me. What ever happened to figuring something out for yourself? There are plenty of commercial products for this, which btw I didn't know until I googled it 10 seconds ago. Or, roll your own spreadsheet or database setup. I'm sick of these lazy assholes who won't even do basic research before asking others to do their job for them. How the fuck is this on the front page?
