I am replying here so all of you can read the replys. The conditional access card for this system is more than capable of handling the temperatures generated by the DTivo. (We are talking DTivos) IF you know the circuit layout you will quickly see that the heat cannot be at the ISO socket (its a large area of circuit board with minimal traces so that the card has a proper recepticle. So unless your powersupply burned at the point of entry to the case there is very little het generation at that point in the case. The drives are mounted towards the front end of the unit as well as all but 2 of the large die heat sources. The DRIVES can over heat and the large chips (mainly the decoder chip and proc) but the card itself cannot generate enoguh heat to melt. Ive seen enough cards, yes some even do get a little warped, but this is from the CARDS heat not the SYSTEM. The melted card socket (if you actually melted it) is from the HEAT from the CARDs processor not the IRD (Dtivo). This card would have had the same problem in a normal IRD regardless of DTIVO or not. The other major source of "melted" cards (and melted is probably not as good as heat stressed) are additional circuits added at the card/iso socket interface. (Yup people do actually do this and do actually on occasion screw it up). But again it is NOT THE DTIVO doing this it the card was one of a series that have been known to do this. Also as demands on the cards timing systems have increased in response to piracy the heat generated by these cards has increased considerably. Cards for the most part work well, but not all cards are equal, some are better then others, just like pc's and cars...if you build enough you will make good ones and bad ones and everything in between.
But it is not the DTIVO that melted it.
No it does not reduce the peripheral vision.
Thats why they use them in fighter planes!
They do need to intergrate them into the visor more completely.
And it would be a GOD send for track use as well.

I suspect that under closer examination one would find that you were attaching an external circuit to your DTIVO. Something say based on a MAX232 or 1489 serial interface. Does this sound more like the truth? Give me a break....the card reader broke....quit trying to STEAL service and you wont have that problem.
I had the CoCo 1 with its chicklet keyboard:) A Whopping 4K we exapanded to 16K then 64K. I had 2 coco 2's and a coco 3. Had added the color monitor circuit and added disk drives modem....god i miss those innocent days. Even had OS/9 for it and the damn machine would multi-task (true) when nothing basically would.
Man oh man. I remeber getting it and typing in basic programs and having to leave the damn thing on for days or weeks cause i didnt have the cassette recorder option yet. Came with a great big manual on the computer and Basic language. I remeber Rainbow the magazine for it, and Rainbow on tape the only way to load those great programs without typing them in line by line and then debugging your typos.:)

Usually my US passport prevents them from even asking what i am carring. There is no misconception of selling a human life over there. It is absolutley done. Oh its simple. Forget radio. Get a DTV/Dish Network/or digital cable. Set you video capture to the music channel you want (they all have digital music channels most have 30+ channels) no commericals. Get you music that way then rip as you need too. In fact using a DTV and a TIVO:) you can highly automate this:)

Well when I say they are not hooked up thats what i mean. No wire from the terminals and no they are not shoddy speakers (Klipsch isnt known for shoddy speakers.) They are sitting next to my hooked up pair. I will investigate further if it is HAM or CB. You may well be right about it being an overdriven CB. As for it being a radio i do have a pretty good understanding of electronics and see no reason that a pair of speakers not hooked up should receive audio transmissions.
Actually since systems generally must be maintained and this costs real money every year. While there may be a higher cost the first year or two the savings should be forthcoming almost right away. As for losing money, so are the baby bells, just ask them, they got the funky accounting to go along with it. So is the cable company, just ask them. They all can justify why rates need to go up.....
I have had problems with HAM radio operators coming in on my home speakers (when they are not even hooked up). So i guess this is fair. Some (not all) overpower thier rigs, so bleeding into their spectrum would seem fair.

Why would they all want to put all their eggs in one basket. By filing seperate actions the RIAA must defend against each of them. By doing it seperately they are costing RIAA a lot more money. Plus each of them gets their day in court.:)
