Didn't the original XBOX retail for $300? Given the hardware in the 360, i think $300 is a bangup deal. Chances are in the price category they're not going to have any competition from Sony. Rumor has it that the PS3 will be more than $450. http://www.theinq.net/?article=25111 $59.99 is a bit too expensive for games INHO, but i guess in today's world of software it's to be expected that prices are rising. Of course that's about half a day of work worth of pay (or more) for a lot of us here....
Legally, they're right to sue. Morally, i'm not so sure anyone should be charing for music in the first place... It's kinda like making a business selling air.... Something that has always been around and something that isn't ever going away and somewhere someone had an idea to make a profit selling something that should be free...
That's completely normal. Over the next couple days (until thursday) they'll be evening everything out. If you kept watching they were talking about how they were about to fire the orbital manuvering engines to start the evening out process...
In case you hadn't put it together, it's for RIOT control, not PEACEFUL GATHERING control. You are what they call a "conspiracy theorist." Try being realistic here...
lol i think you're getting your information from someone who was lying to you... MSIL is ALWAYS slow so matter what you write in but it doesnt matter which language you use beyond that...
to the fact that no one cared about google.... Pretty much all of my friends loved it right away.... the previous post implys that not many people wanted to go for it...
on the contrary, as soon as i discovered google i started using it and i haven't gone back since... Google offered something better than anyone else and every attempt at doing something better by other companies has proved fruitless... I tried yahoo for curiosity a couple days ago and it tok me 10 minutes to find what i wanted... took about 15 seconds to find the same thing on google...
Not that this has anything directly to do with google, but think about how many companies have cropped up with new search "technologies" that will be better and more popular than google. How many people here can name any of them that have een covered by/. off the top of their heads? This, i believe, is one of those kinda of industries that is so engrained that everyone likes how it's being done and doesn't want it to change... Amazon and Ebay work great. why will anyone want to go to Zazzle instead? People like to stick with things they know and trust... My prediction is that it will fail. but maybe that's just me.:-)
be that as it may, i'm all for it.
I sorted through 103 e-mails this morning and deleted all but 3 of them... That's how much spam i'm getting. It's utterly ridiculous.... I think all spammers should be strung up and shot...
also, if 2/3 aren't from the US, then that means 1/3 ARE from the US and i'd bet money that's a majority vs the amount any other country has. granted your data is probably deeply flawed and the number is prolly way different, but were your information true, you just won the case for the US....
I've kinda been hinting around at this for a long time... I think the MS "TCO" figures are total bull, so that alone makes linux a favorable approach for server environments....
Honestly i say use whatever works best for what you want to do... Linux isn't (as) ready for the desktop, but windows is pretty much really good at it... Linux tends to make a better and more stable server environment for an advanced user... In my experience, windows servers are more confusing to get up and running than linux when compared side by side... Of course other people may have different experiences.
AGAIN i say: use whatever works best for what you want to do...
because it would seem that more people here (at the moment) agree with me than agree with you... it's been flopping back and forth from troll to flamebait to insightful for a while...
The US invented the internet. The internet has to be controlled (to a degree) from somewhere. If everything is and always has been working just fine from where it is, why would anyone want to move it? Because they want to change it....that's why. It belongs where it is.
TV and the Telephone do not have one worldwide location of control. You can't control which country all of the billions of TV's are in... if there was only one, you could... do you get it now? Your argument is like saying the US wants to take all the server on the entire internet accross the whole globe and move them to the US, which is obviously not the case.
yes, some do exist... I think as a general rule though, the managers do about as much, or less, work than the employees under them... I think my boss is great, but he does spend a large portion of his day taking personal calls and working on personal projects for his tax business...
I think the kicker is that he respects the workers, treats them like they're human and doesn't pretend to know more than the people with the technical knowledge/training to do the "hard" jobs...
Honestly, in todays way of thinking/working, sometimes the only thing i can do to keep from going nuts is to take some time and just do nothing with it. Other countries think the US is nuts for working as much as they do... Work + no vacation = burnout...
I usually spend a good hour or so a day looking around/. and other tech news, reading reviews, etc... It's about all that keeps me sane sometimes...

This is my opinion of course.

have you ever used VB.NET. It's actually a very powerful language "now." It all ends up as MSIL anyway...

in separate countries as they raced each other there....
wow....you sound so unbiased. i can see why now they didn't want to hand anything over....

I think you're missing the point...

In case you hadn't noticed, the british gov't isnt the one whining about the state of the internet.
then all three of you can leave...
Then, with all due respect, ya'll should have invented it first... :-)
It's not for the "rest of the world" to decide what we should do with what is our. They can get the heck over it

Canon did this ages ago....
ever seen a WXGA screen? Compare that to a book and i think you won't find much difference...
they'll be about as far away from their eyes as the books they were reading last year... i highly doubt this will be an issue...
