of sending a man to the moon? To say they did it? It would be the biggest waste of money since I paid my taxes in April. I just don't see the rationale behind it - it's good they scrubbed it.
The FCC won't bow to broadcasters, but if there is interference, enough customer complaints might spark some change. Otherwise they can just get DirecTV or Dish Network. Somehow, I don't think that people in "rural" areas who depend on broadcast TV (trailer parks?) will go for the satellite option.
The most secure system int he world won't protect you if your employees aren't trained on how to prevent social engineers from bypassing their security systems anyway. Why spend countless hours trying to hack passwords when you can pretend to be an employee and ask for the info outright? Just take a look at The Art of Deception by Kevin Mitnick. What a great book...
The major difference is stories on/. can be posted by anyone, and bias aside, usually have content that is generally interesting to the/. demographic.
The majority of personal blogs are about whatever mundane thing happened to the person on the way to the grocery store. Outside of posting one for family and friends, I don't see the point.
This may be modded off-topic, but find me a company that "blows" money on MCSE's? I remember when MCSE certification actually meant something, way back when. No offense to MCSE's here, but they are now a dime a dozen - everyone wants MCSE certification, and IMHO it doesn't carry as much weight as it did. I know MCSE's who didn't know how to 'ping' an IP or even start a command prompt.
"Blowing" money on MCSEs is right; a good (really good) *nix admin commands at least three times the salary of a good MCSE.
Besides, despite what everyone is saying: "now what's the reason for not switching" - I don't think the reason has ever been lack of support or application compatibilty. The reason is the receptionist, the administrative assistant, the actual person that has to USE this desktop. What receptionist do you know that wouldn't ask for more money if they had to learn Linux in order to do her job? At the very least, I see the IT dept and those types migrating, but the rest of the office staying with good ol' windows. Even if it is free, it may not be worth the cost.
They for the TNA Algorithm - Tactile Natural Assimilation, for realistic representation of the skin around a woman's Breasts and Backside. This is the money maker, used for everything from Tomb Raider (Lara Croft) to Mario's bulbous (read: breastlike) nose in the popular Super Mario Bros. games.
What is the Connexion by Boeing service infrastructure?
* Airborne system: airborne antennas, airborne servers, routers, and associated wiring.
* Ground system: network operations center, associated satellite uplink and downlink equipment, and business operation center.
* Space system: leased satellite transponders.
It looks like they do use satellites, but they also seem to have ground NOC's and antennae. They don't say which is used for what, but it's safe to assume that it won't be as fast as my optonline connection:D
It sounds like a reasonable price, especially if it aids productivity, but what I'd really like to know is (1) how much the service costs the airline versus how much they stand to make from consumers and (2) how fast will it be (802.11b? g?)
I didn't expect to be able to find the pricing, but I did expect to find some sort of speed rating, which I haven't been able to locate.
Can someone please post the list or an alternate link? For some reason, my company's 'WebSense' filter denies me access because it's in the 'games' category.
As far as price goes, it would need to be quite an advantage over the standalone nature of M$ Office. the monthly fee ostensibly raises the TCO quite a bit for large companies, and I just don't see the benefit of raising my bottom line just so people can access it from their handhelds, etc. Ever heard of Pocket Excel and Pocket Word?
What happens if the network is down? I can just see it now -
CFO - anyCompany - "I have a huge presentation to make and I can't print my slides!"
Unless they go after users who register their software for support reasons (RedHat, Mandrake), I don't see this being a real possibility. Also, the RIAA sues people under the premise that they are "costing" them money by providing a way to get music for free, for which they would otherwise pay (a ridiculous as we all know this is). I don't think SCO could even find out who is using it, let alone be able to prove monetary damages of any amount. Even if a suit is successful, how could they prove how much money they "lost"? The legal process would cost more than it's worth.
You're right - I do not have so much of a craving for games that I need to spend more than the actually PS2 costs just to be able to play them on the go. Nintendo has already beaten this price - sure the GBA:SP isn't as powerful, but who cares? You have fun games like Mario Kart: Super Circuit to keep you company.
The sucky part is, some albums have tracks that simply don't show up as tracks on the albums in iTMS. I was looking at Jay-Z's Black Album to get a song that my wife likes, and iTMS didn't show it. It didn't even say that it was a 'partial album'. I ended up borrowing the CD and ripping it instead of chancing that the small track was meshed in with another one. There was just no way for me to know.

..why people think blogs are so cool, when they obviously aren't?

"Finally" is what they said about every other game that id made. "This summer" is a loose euphamism for "sometime in 2004, maybe 2005."
Wait and see.

An egregious ommision.
They do it now with magazines. At least now you'll be able to hear the sounds too...

mid-air LAN party!!
I just love the word "probably" in that statement.

I don't need your "teachings" you alien brainwashers! I'm still wearing my tin-foil hat!
That still doesn't answer my question - what if there were changes made by someone else that are necessary to the inquisitor?
I've RTFA. Do you TBYS? (Think before you speak)
What have been the most major hurdles in your projects (both past and present)? How were they handled in the past?
So now they can link my face to my e-mail address? No thanks.

I'd hate to be the IT manager getting that call.

We also drive on the wrong side of the road...

Besides, I have my iPod for music.
...if your talking about ROFL. This is going to be a costly p/r ploy by Sony.
