This is actually a problem that is already starting. Hardware designers are making their systems to survive hotter and hotter temperatures (I think rackable is one). This is great because it requires less energy to cool the systems, however it creates a very poor work environment for the techs who have to keep the systems running.
Mountain View (and some surrounding areas) have had a power outage, fiber cut and internet outage all within a 24 hour period. The spooks must be setting up some new equipment.
It really depends on how much data you are talking about and your performance requirements. SSD gives a good medium between RAM and HD for both speed and cost.
As to the french / canadian-french thing, that was one of the most surprising things I saw in france. I went to paris and was shocked how the tram ticket people treated the canadian girl in our group who spoke french. One of the few times I as an american was treated better.
Though I gotta say the french people, even in paris, who didn't speak english were actually very pleasant (I love hand motion communication when traveling).
Thanks, I know that france has always had a hard stance towards language and it is interesting to see how that idea has propagated. I'm actually surprised how recent that legislation is, though if french was being replaced I can see why.
Ease of communication between cultures is good, but there is a lot of culture tied up in the words/language that we use that would be a shame to lose.
So let me get this straight, if there is a french version available then it is illegal to sell a non-french version? I've never been the Quebec but are their no foreign people who live there? People who may speak french but prefer to game in their own language?
Anyway, do they limit books too or is this some luddite/anti-video game thing?
You can always reintroduce measures if something gets struck down using this tactic, it seems at least that it is much more difficult to strike measures that have already been voted in.
I find that "correlation is not causation" to be a great way to filter out those with zero (well actually negative because they are actively spreading misinformation) knowledge of statistics.
I dunno, there has been quite a bit of research done with image/object recognition. You could break this by not matching pictures directly but by seeing that the first one is a bunny (so look for a bunny in the list), the second one is a hammer, etc...
Yep. I've lost a number of games (or it came on media my system no longer reads) which is why I always store a copy of the CD key elsewhere. Steam just makes it that much easier. If Steam does go down and IF my games become unplayable its not like it would be that hard to get copies.

Apart from the fact that their judgment of SF/SV was nonsense, that still is no justification for being lazy and simply naming a country when in the list they essentially name 1 area twice.

Its a beautiful thing.

That was quite a rant. Post on an account instead of AC and maybe you will get some mod points yourself.
At least in california the coal has turned to diamonds, no threat of combustion.

Not legal precedent, but it is precedent none the less.

If we had 0 population growth that probably would be simpler. But IANAE.
But ... but ... CSI, computers and experts are always right! You mean they actually have to do investigations instead of blind trust?
I wonder how much hard evidence they discarded because they "knew" it was this same woman?

Then think of it as selling a service, if its worth it to you then buy from them, if not then go to best buy or something.
Its called a torrent.
