I can't think of anything that will do more to reinforce the stereotype that gamers are a bunch of pathetic losers than their efforts to "raise awareness" to this issue by dressing up as zombies and "marching" in "protest".
If the general response to their efforts is "Get a life", they will have deserved it.
Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Plot... all atheists and responsible for over 100 millions deaths in the 20th century, not counting deaths from wars (hot or cold).
Just give me the damn information, I'll learn it and pass the test. Be there if I have questions.
Your first sentence is a comma-splice. The second shows an incorrect assessment of the role of the professor -- we are not your servants; we are a resource, available at certain times of the week. If you cannot handle that basic level of subordination, go forth from school and get a job. Better yet, join the military. And if you are capable of mastering some or all of an undergraduate education on your own, log off/. and go do it.
Sitting in a lecture taking notes ahs almost no practical aplpication after college..unless you want to be a professor.
You misspelled "has" and "application"; you also misused an ellipsis. And it is true that taking notes is a useless activity in many jobs. Many of the people employed on my campus who work in food-service and housekeeping do not take notes.
it's the prof's own fault if the students aren't interested.
And it's the boss' own fault if the employees aren't interested in their own work, too, I bet?
Best to get over it & get real, or get some drop slips.
I think you're dead on. So a machine can "impersonate" Bach or Mozart... so what? Can a machine make the leap from Mozart to Beethoven to Bartok to Cecil Taylor in its own? Not a chance.
Good for "Emmy" and her author! I'd love to hear some of the music that's been written. But none of this means the end of music composition as we know it.
Consider "Python Programming for the Absolute Beginner" by Michael Dawson. Python has the advantage of making sense in the same way that mathematics makes sense, so learning the language may have the additional bonus of helping him transition from computational math to algebra. As for the book, it has an extremely high rating on Amazon. One reviewer (C.L. West) states that he taught his nephew using this book.
I do tech support for 2 people, and I've come to the conclusion that:
1) Linux is good enough for 98% of what they want to do & that this option fits my budget. 2) If you find yourself babysitting a Linux install for too long, replace it with a used Mac. 3) The admin is the only one allowed to use Windows on a regular basis (tax software & Netflix in my case).
Obviously, we're not gamers, and I don't claim that this will work for everyone everywhere. But I offer it in case it's helpful.
If you want to stimulate the economy, what would be more optimal? To give cash to a corporation that has shown it is not capable of producing wealth, or to forgive a large percentage of all student debt?
I suspect that, in terms of economics, the second option is the winner.
I can't sign that. If someone offers to sell me MJ, I'll politely say no. If someone offers to sell my minor daughter MJ, that is a far different matter. Those are the dealers I would gladly see in prison for a long, long time.
Lovelock stated that, once the planet had been saved, it would be time for a good spanking. "Yes," he declared, "we must all have a good spanking!"
Lovelock later apologized and said that once he started fantasizing, he found it hard to stop.
Dressed as zombies, of course. That will help gamers' reputations with the ladies.

My experience & sentiments exactly.

Indeed!

Oh, you're the one my father-in-law talked to.
Thanks, BTW! His PC is working now.
Then maybe England and Sweden will be able to resume their wine production as they did before the Medieval ice age.
Soon, we'll be smoking weed in a bar wondering how we can score some Jack & Coke.
That's an exact analogy for this situation, IMHO.

687 m/.3433s = 2001 m/s approx. That's 6566 ft/s, or 1.24 mps, which is 4476 mph.
That would mean it's traveling at over Mach 5 (at sea level), so perhaps this data is incorrect after all.
How'd you _get_ the coconuts?!
How about I eat an environmentalist?
Who are is this guy kidding?!

Send the programmers and administrators to detention!!
I will risk the dreaded -1 Offtopic rating because, frankly, the parallel had to be made.
What's your client's name? I'll be happy to forward your comments to him.
& you are a coward in more ways that one. Congratulations. Keep hiding.

SW is supposed to be space opera -- i.e., what laws of physics? What rules of design? What about sound waves in space?
Does this blogger realize who long dying opera characters can keep singing, for pete's sake?
