I noticed that talk, especially in the South. People would no longer say "We don't like people from Central America or south of our border" Instead they say "we don't like illegals" "illegals go home"
One word and makes such a difference. No longer racist.
Now Linus can expect visit from the current regime security forces. Many people in the U.S was treated this way. No matter if they had bank accounts, 401K, houses, they were put on the plane and sent home. When I think about it's not only government forces behaving this way. There are stories about hospitals shipping immigrant patients to the country of their birth. Imagine when you wake up in some foreign hospital after living in US for 30 years.
No surprise here. What FED was doing for the last couple decades? Printing the money and printing and printing and printing and printing and printing and printing and printing and printing and printing and printing and printing
All these cries about savings and cuts are pathetic. There is enormous amount of money in circulation, so much that economic bubbles just put little dent in it.
If you like spying on your own citizens, agencies and local security forces are hiring. Some people will not be happy with automation, that's where federal and local forces step in and squash any uprisings.
It is such a ugly primitive OS. I moved to OS X and Linux and sometimes have to reboot to Windows 7. Polished on the outside, ugly on the inside. Still the same widgets from Windows 95 era.
Windows 7 it's like walking into dirty toilet.
For God sake stop wasting people's time and fix first what we paid for. Not another half-baked release.
It is bricked. After reading Apple recommendation to reset Power Management system, take battery out-press power button for 5 seconds, got even worse. Can't use DVD drive anymore, won't boot into single mode or safe mode and verbose get stuck on errno 88.
Should I buy and keep a second Mac to be able use Firewire mode in case like this?
Everytime Steve B. spreads his FUD about Linux my imagination brings an image of flying chairs.
Can I get screensaver somewhere without risk being hit by a chair?
You gotta see my system. Boot it's nothing comparing to what I have to go through every day.
After my box is done with booting, it starts compiling. Bye the time is done with compiling I have to turn it off before going to sleep.
...and the same story every day.
It's getting boring. I heard the same argument last time when they released Win XP, and before for Win 98.
Would you stop already. Always the best and revolutionary like never before.
Life will show that nothing really changed, except Microsoft coffins getting bigger
I am one of them. I had five iMacs G4 and selling them for the last couple months one by one on Ebay. The only one that I'm leaving will be 1.25Ghz 17" and still, probably just for another couple months.
I don't want to stay with a lot of useless hardware when the Intel Mac is out. Some would argue that the old Macs will be great for web servers, rendering etc. but I prefer to get rid of it when it still has some value.
Coming from Europe I can say that we share the same shopping experience.
Shopping for DVD player last month at big chain store first saleperson I found was able advice which player to get to play home made videos, Divx with subtitles, which have choppy playback etc.
and manufactures know that and don't try to cripple their products too much for european market.
I still remember going to Sony store to pick catalog with specifications for every model they sell and basing my purchase on that.
Quite diffrent experience at Circuit City where I remember being chased by a saledrone trying sell you something...
Decision maybe unpopular but many companies have no choice. They either sign gag order of cease to exist.

I know, in the U.S.A healthcare is just another business. No profit, no care.

Get Gentoo instead.
It will finish compiling shortly before Raspberry Pi arrives.
Dozen of agents arresting a housewife???
Serious criminals walk on streets and laugh every day. Not to mention many other crimes that go unpunished.
What we lately read, are only stories about heavily armed forces busting housewives and teenagers. Gross.

It's not enough that they make terrible printers and now this...
No other update in the last two years caused so much havoc.
It should be pulled immediately.

Well, that's an insightful post. But equally insightful would be giving me insightful points.
