    apparently not. sco has not only copyrighted those lines, but patented the IDEA of 80 lines of codes. and the idea of any code that performs the same function, thus crippling any possibility of linux surviving...

    this is the funniest book i ever read. otoole wrote it, didn't publish it, then commited suicide. his mom found it and brought it to a publisher, and it won a pulitzer.

    meaning that really good games, whether they are on a computer or not, are rare.

    i think that we've only begun to see the possibilities - it's just going to take people a while to figure out how to best make use of the amazing computing resources that are available.

    just for those of you out there, i'd like to say that spam can be very useful.

    i recently had my penis enlarged, and let me tell you, it's awesome. not long after, i helped out this guy from nigeria and he gave me 10 million dollars for it!! since then, i've been able to refinance my home, which i sit inside of downloading the most awesome porn, which can be printed on my quality inkjet printers, bought at an excellent discount. and to top it off, i can feel confortable that my family is secure because i bought some first rate life insurance.

    oh and did i mention that it helped me lose 50 pounds ?

    i worked in a robotics lab for a few years and people did spend all their time doing that with robots. but that's because it had to be done.

    what many people do in the robotics community is not AI, which is considered crap by many. just trying to get a robot to localize itself in a room is hard and is not and AI problem, but a complex application of statistics and other mathematics for making use of sensor data (from sonar, radar, cameras, lasers). unlike minsky there are some people out there who know what good engineering and science is, and it doesn't include "AI".

    Oh he means whaling dutch, the dialect spoken by dutch whalers largely before the 19th century. that's why you've never seen it before. it was crucial to the operations of all whaleships in fact to have a tree based operating system.
