I appreciate Quicksilver the same way you do.

Where our opinions differ is in regard to Snow Crash. I absolutely LOVED that story. I had no idea you could make a pizza delivery guy interesting! I've never read Diamond Age nor Zodiac yet.

Due to my enjoyment of Quicksilver and the quotes at the beginnings of chapters I'm (re)visiting some classics. Canterbury Tales is a BLAST.

Then why do their classic rock stations like this one play Hootie and the Blowfish, and other stuff that's only a couple years old? Do you think classic rock fans want to hear this shit?

They consider playing 3 songs from a dozen or two artists to be variety. The only two stations around here that are even tolerable are owned by a locally owned broadcasting company.

  14. Re:"Failing business?" on ClearChannel Complains About XM, Sirius Radio · · Score: 5, Insightful

Yes but as XM becomes more mainstream are you going to listen to ClearChannel stations? I don't have XM and try to listen to Non-ClearChannel stations. ClearChannel stations have the most obnoxious radio shows, commercials, jockeys and play the narrowest selection of music.

XM has many stations that don't even have commercials and cater to any musical taste. In my area we don't even have an FM Jazz station...

I really enjoy The Darkness. I don't think they are anything like Zeppelin...Many of their lyrics make even less sense than Zeppelins.

What they really remind me of is 80's hair metal and maybe a little bit of Queen. I own their cd 'Permission to Land', all of the songs but one or two really kick ass. They also seem to have a sense of humor.
