  1. Verizon on FCC Requires Backup Power For 210K Cell Towers · · Score: 1

I have serviced Verizon Cell Towers throughout the Midwest (500+) and they all had backup power sources attached to their towers. The backup sources depended on location, but a great majority of them included massive batteries along with generators.

  6. BitSpirit... on Long-Awaited BitTorrent 4.0 Released · · Score: 1

After trying out all the clients I have come to love BitSpirit. It's coded in C++, which in my opinion runs with less of a memory footprint then most of the Java clients, it also includes every feature imaginable!

Check it out, its definitely a client worth looking at.

  9. XBOX Media Center! on Mod Chips Up, Game Industry Revenues Down? · · Score: 0

I have both achipped PS2 and XBOX, and the PS2 is basically sitting their collecting dust these days! The XBOX is the only one getting any use and that's because I can play all my DiVX/XViD movies on my XBOX by streaming them using my computer. If it wasn't for this feature alone I probably wouldn't be playing either of the two consoles, their haven't been any games lately that have caught my attention except for some yearly released sports games and Splinter Cell. Otherwise, my PS2 most likely won't get any use until the new Grand Theft Auto comes out, or they release a new Gran Tursimo for it. Maybe modchips are causing the drop in sales of video games, but I would bet a lot of people are like me and only use them for the homebrewed applications that can be run on the consoles!

  11. Fraternities... on Building Social Skills in Gifted Youths? · · Score: 0

Joining a fraternity can bring th emost socialness out of a person. Yeah, fraternities are stereotypically considered as the partiers, but what better way then to interact with the 100+ members in that fraternity, and all the social functions that you may have with girls. If this kid can't get along with actual every day people he will go no where in life, even if he is gifted, he will end up working some lab job, and the kid that was social, but may not have been as smart is going to be managing him. I see it every day going to a Top 5 Engineering University, being in the programs 90% of the kids will end up working factory jobs calculating shit all day long. And you notice the kids in fraternities are the most social of any class, along with the added social benefits a fraternity will bring contacts in the real world. As everyone knows, it's not what you know, it who you know...
