Thats not Yahoo's fault that hotmail autobot spammers who do dictionary spam attacks on hotmail servers. Because hotmail is so popular they get many valid hits.
I am suprised that Sun's Star Office recieves so much attention from slashdot and the open sauce community.
Ability Office offers similar functionality in most cases, it can export to PDF, open all MS Office file types and doesn't use a ugly as hell windowing toolkit.
It can even be run on linux. Star Office is not very similar to Open Office at all, sun kept the best parts to themselves (database app) so why are they seen to be *cooler* to open source zealots then other perfectly good office sweets?
Also its cheaper than StarOffice, Ability only costs 69.95
I know you are trying to be funny, but if you look at windows security now verses 5 years ago you will find that its drastically improved.
Windows ATM will most likley be based on Windows XP/Embedded, which Microsoft are selling for around $3 a processor. Linux would probably cost much more than that because the bank would need to customize it for their needs and also need to pay experts to keep them running.
Windows ATM on the other hand needs no kernal patches ever time a problem is found you can just download a hotfix from their site, this requires no experts and lowers the TCO. This might also be scriptable with WSH (windows scripting host). Microsoft are not stupid if they are making a windows version for ATMs they will *Make sure* it is 100% secure.
Recently all my friends have stared asking me if its safe to download from kazaa, I told them don't use that shit.
I installed eMule for them and showed them how to get full albums and movies.
So I guess the RIAA is winning against kazaa users but p2p is here forever!!! Just now I have downloaded transgaming wineX off eMule, its got everything you can think of.
Ballmer, Allchin and others have made it clear many times
that they are using these patents to pursue the strategy
against open source software outlined in the halloween
papers.
Patents are a not new way for software makers to gain control
over other people's intellectual property. And not a common
one at all. There are not many software makers which have
engaged in an extensive patenting strategy like Microsoft.
Most of the extensive patenters are large hardware makers.
Microsoft was the only software maker at the 1994 USPTO
hearings that advocated software patents.
You are the sad one, how can i be racist if I am white myself. If I was born there during the Apartheid I would have left the place in shame, these colonisers are no better than Nazi sympatheisers.
No you are mistaken, I objected to there being so many "white people" = (people who created the arphetied) still being in South Africa, acting like its their home.
Rather than having a software layer which groups files by content rather than tree structure, why not impliment a SQL type of system to access ReiserFS after all it is a database underneeth.
Doing this through the filesystem strikes me as alot more efficient than a quick hack of a filemanager.
A Story worthy of slashdot, I have had enough of this YRO CRAP.

just use mailinator.com for throw away email.
Secrets are overated, it is better having everything out in the open.
Only fuckers with anything to hide are terrorits and SCO.
Can somone say slow news day!
I also hate how a lot of you are against intellectual property.
I feel that
everyone has a right to private property, and can copyright or patent
it.
Companies also have a right to use DRM to protect their products.
The DMCA is wrong, however, because it OUTLAWS circumvention of
copy protection, among other things.
That has nothing to do with copyright
or intellectual property and everything to do with making it easier for
businesses at the expense of our rights.
100-year copyrights are a bit
ridiculous, too, although as long as it's limited it's perfectly lawful.
suck my cok
props 2 gnaa

I did read the article, Windows XP is really Windows NT 5.1.
Windows Embedded is a stripped down version of full XP. It is the succesor to Windows NT4 Embedded.

Obvously their reputation would be at steak.

You always find that after the filesystem is on a drive that it is even smaller.
It would be better for Hard Drive manufacturers to quote the size after formatting and installing a filesystem to avoid confusion.
Seriously how much is an extra gig or 2 going to cost them?
I dont know what browser you are using but in mine it does.
lol

I have been thinking on India, I'm planning to start an outsourcing firm over there. This would give me a competitive advantage over the natives.
One of many ideas though.
How is the broadband there?

Racism? how is that comment racist?
Its an odd place, it feels weird.
Knowing that many of the older people were around during the arpheteid, fuck them I have no respect for them.

Your whole island has 80,000 people wtf? My city which I consider relativley small has 320,000 People!!
I don't like South Africa, for an African country it has way too many white people.
I'd rather go to Kenya or Uganda.
How is broadband there?
What happens when real pirates rob me?
