There used to be an excellent page with possible models by which light sabres could work. It has since shut down, but here is the relevant text. Model six is good, if a bit speculative. Being hosted on geocities it may be limited time only... http://www.geocities.com/deathcommando.geo/ls.htm
Let's just stop and think for a minute. Would the extinction of the human race really be all that bad? I mean, I don't want to be wiped out in a nuclear war any more than the next guy, but if we simply stopped having children and die off, who loses? Not us as individuals, we're going to die at some point anyway. Sure as hell not the biosphere. Seems win/win to me...
My question has always been "So what if we go extinct?" Honestly now, set the ego aside and think about it logically. If everyone on earth is killed off by some planet-killing event, what good does it do them to have other people somewhere else? It's like saying it's all well and good if I'm killed in a home invasion, 'cause there are plenty of other people living in other houses. Why is it so important that we keep existing as a species?
They serve different roles, the XM8, as I'm sure you meant, is your basic assault weapon, while the OICW is a support weapon. That said, the XM8 started as the lower portion of the XM29 OICW anyway.
Actually some types of nukes are considered to be
"dirty." Neutron bombs for example,
are small nukes with the purpose of releasing radiation as opposed to causing
damage by way of heat and shockwave.
Yeah, my boss who's a science teacher in the off-season mentioned one of his classes sent their sigs in. I also seem to remember signing my sig for one probe or another many years ago, may well be Cassini.
I know nothing about it, but it's my understanding that the high price of plasma displays is in large part caused by the fact that the manufacturing process is pretty hit and miss. For every one that comes out right, there's a couple that don't, so there is room for the price to come down eventually, provided they manage refine the process. But again, I don't have any source on this, I just seem to remember hearing it...

Cell phone haters unite! They'd have to pay me to carry one around, and this is coming from someone who wouldn't get any calls anyway.
A Hummer? It would take so much thrust to get one of those behemouths to Mars it would be easier just to bring Mars here...
You thought correctly.
Not suprisingly I'm already a member.

I'd just like to say at this point that Carmack himself has said he doesn't have much interest in making games anymore, he just likes making engines.

I tried the Sharpie, but now my eyes just sting...
If he's running XP then yes, it does.
Ah, but they did. Yes, for once in my gaming life it's good to be living in NH.
Obviously you haven't been reading your Sluggy Freelance.
"Body: fatter" Not always true. I weigh a whopping 125 lbs. in large part because I can't be bothered to take the time to eat.

... and then it's ping pong!
So it's going to be a 5 hour musical epic then?

Sweet zombie Jesus, a FP that's not only not a troll, but is actually useful!
Wow! ALL the way back to 2001, huh? that sure is long enough to establish a pattern...
no no, they want to clean them, not distroy them.
No no no, the joke was that I was too distracted by the boo... oh nevermind, if it has to explained then it failed.
Bad news chief, they've been legal for nearly 2 years in my state...
Yeah, it looks absolutely ghast... I'm sorry, what were you saying? I wasn't paying attention...
