Wow really? You must not use a lot of applications that arent made by Microsoft. All I see is explosions left and right with any of my peers who try to use Vista. None of them can get half the applications they want to work right and are constantly annoyed by the various "improvements" microsoft has made.

Apple demands you run their software on their hardware because they are first and foremost a hardware company. It's not a catch 22, its hardware designed for software, and software designed for hardware, which has always been what Apple was all about. That's in part why they have such great stuff.

I would tell you to just install iMacs in the labs.. but honestly, a solid windows install with a well configured active directory (and DeepFreeze) works great. Windows may not be the most "hip" OS nowadays, I don't even use it anymore. But sometimes people dont give it enough credit. The only issue I see is IT that lacks the ability to design quality images for their machines.

Are we all really surprised? Im never one to explicitly advocate for microsoft - wishing secretly linux and apple would talk over the world in some beautiful social movement.

But given our current systems, no one can really "stick it to the man" and force Microsoft to do anything. It's their software, their format.. and really whose to force them to do otherwise? So to speak, we are a slave to the machines we use.

We can't expect a self serving corporate body to really care for us unless it of course, benefits them in some way.

In the end, Google knows how it's done. I find I much more often induldge in either clicking on or glancing at an unobstrusive (and generally relevant) google ad than I do any annoying popup which causes me nothing other than to feel contempt for the company who pulled it on to my screen. Sneaky and dirty marketing is just distasteful, and they should know that it reflects poorly on the company and the product. I suppose it still works well on people like my grandmother, who believe they are in fact the 5000th visitor.

I must be racist as I dismiss black people? People like to bitch if only to hear their own voices. The add isn't racist, its relevant to the damn products. As was said before, and I'll say again: Racism in things such as this, are only visible to the people who already innately see division by colour in the first place.

I found importing my contact lists in Gmail super easy - I get lots of emails per day.. maybe not thousands, but 20 or so? It hands them all into nice filters for me and labels them. Google searching my emails rocks. Whenever i think of a piece of information I need, I can just search my email for it. What do I do in hotmail? "Click, back.. Click, Back..." Gmail is super awesome :)
