    This sounds like shit talking. anti-virus/malware vendors do the same crap

    I do not trust any anti-virus/malware software anymore. I've had trendmicro pick up text files written 20 years ago as a virus. I've had norton kill copies of remote admin (at the absolute worse times too...). I've had adaware find crap on systems virgin systems... and the stuff it finds i know isnt infected.

    My solution to the problem has been to use zonealarm, shut down ports at the router level, monitor my network traffic, restore a ghost image on a regular basis, and watch what i install. It's not a perfect system but it mostly works well enuf that i doubt i am part of the botnet. I scan with microtrend once in a while for fun...

    If you didnt write it, dont trust it. We've seen time and time again legitimate software doing things we dont feel they should be doing.

    I fucken want tits on broadcast TV and the commercial volume to be normalized.

    Seriously, those of you who think we dont need this are just retarded. The commercials are fucken three times louder than the shows sometime. Comedy central is the fucken worse at this. Southpark with low volume and then BOOOM with the fucken commercials. Solve the problem with technology? Um, no. The one thing the FCC should be doing is controlling the technological aspects of transmission. Jesus... I hate gobberment interference with anything... but fuck. We need a SINGLE STANDARD TRASNSMISSION VOLUME.     You have to remember that the BBS days were full of hack/phreak/anarchy. Many of us were terrible children. If a kid did half the shit we did, or lied about doing, they would be carted off to gitmo never to be seen again. hell, they want to charge you with a crime for just having 'anarchy' files today.

    I spent today in a discussion about video games, free speech, and how hiliary clinton is a c-muscle for supporting jack thompson like legislation. I'm on the side of putting to death all those who attack the 1st amendment... and I hate almost every thing that screams protect the children because it almost always ruins life and freedom for others. But i do think that segregation is a good idea, and that some sort of parental approval to allow children to interact with adults in online gaming is a good idea for all involved. If you have ever played online... the racism... the sexism... man... those kids are rough... THEY ARE WORSE THAN ADULTS. Here and there you want to hunt one of them down... The MMOs... I imagine them being like the IRC in the 90s... again... there is a need protect adults from horny under aged girls... Heh, I think the adults actually need protected from the kids. I dont think I want to see the legislator getting involved, I think I want to see the industry decide how to sort this out themselves.

    It's safe to assume you are not a power user. Afew terminal sessions, a ticketing system, some chat windows, some proprietary device software, misc documentation, a browser (with dozens of tabs)... It's nice to tab together windows into groups that compliment other groups so you have open the windows you need for a single task (say two terminal sessions, a dacs, and maybe a text area for your mop...

    Idk man, I've been using wintabber for well over a year. It's great for poorly written apps that want to open hundreds of windows. (ATT's OOS ticketing system for example). Tabbing has some nice advantages.

    Cheap tickets passed my info along to webloyalty. I was billed, but was able to get the charges reversed by webloyalty with no issues. Classmates.com has also been known to do crap like this.

    I use dosbox all the time... Never actually read the dox so I had no idea scaling modes existed. Checked out the wiki... man, this is gonna make Grave Yardage and a bunch of the dosgames I love look sweet. Thanx a lot for the input.

    Actually, I personally dont print much at all, and when I do I normally use the office printer. Afew rasterbations. Some fridge clutter. Monitor stickers. The quality is always better than I would get at home.

    But printing labels/stickers, maps, cards, art/projects (rasterbations!), recipes, pictures, sarafi books to read on the crapper, and other crap still goes on in the real world. Notice that bigbox still has lots of printers and ink cartridges for sale.

If they then need to 'put my remains to rest' they should be cremated and pulverized and then dumped into Lake Erie (the broken piers at Edge Water in cleveland).

    I've not been able to find any information on how to donate one's body to the body farm tho. :(

    Commodore users were used to machine language monitors, where you could switch from hex, to binary, to ascii, to assembly. Assembly on this level is machine language, and anyone who says different is just an idiot. Its not compiled, it is just ran by executing a particular memory location. JSR = 20 = 32 = " " = 100000. Some of the better ML monitors actually displayed the opcodes with asm code. http://www.atariarchives.org/mlb/chapter1.php - this book points these facts out very clearly. Pretty much making them all the same low level languages. Now, when you start to use psudo ops, lables, variables, libraries, self relocating code, ect... its not on the same low level, but is still low level.

    Why are we here? The Earth wants plastic. If plastic, pharmaceuticals, mercury, and other toxic to human substances raise to high enough concentrations in sea life it will be afforded new protections from humans until we evolved into something able to consume those tasty toxic creatures again, or we just die off and the planet continues without us.

    People just dont have any consideration. They cant figure out how to use a fucken trash can anymore. We cant we have nice things? Because people fucken suck shit.
