Why not only make this mandatory for people who have had previous drunk driving convictions? I suppose they could drive someone else's car, but not long term. You'd think it would solve a lot of the problems with the idea.
Surely a lot of these results are for search engines that prey on google. You can't run a lookup on anything these days without finding a link that goes straight to some other search page, filled with ads of course. Is this a problem, and is Google actually counting those pages in the 6 billion figure?
If you're talking about standardized fiber lines, there aren't going to be a whole lot of ISPs. I'm thinking it will eventually be close to centralized, and then you'll have one or two ISPs with a billion or so customers each. Even if you could just cut connections off, think how hard it would be to keep up with the number of infections... Think of the sheer number of angry people wondering why their HDTV and internet no longer works...
This is interesting... Will programming languages merge as well? Currently english seems to be the current common factor in world languages (not troll, just fact). I wonder what computer language would emerge dominant?.NET was obviously an attempt at this - I wonder how successful it will be in the long run.
Look at SCO/RIAA. Did they have problems even though they announced their general evilness months in advance? Not last I checked. Long-term, sure, it doesn't work, but Diebold only has to keep going UNTIL they rig the election... Then all their problems go away:D

A couple of meetings ago, the Atlanta Hobby Robot Club had the opportunity to admire the intricate inner workings of this vacuum cleaner. We decided the company that sells it needs some advice - drop the price to $9.99 and pray very, very hard.
Amen brotha! Enough of this RIAA nonsense... I am writing a screen saver that will continiously refresh riaa.org in a tiny browser window. If enough people use the screen saver, riaa.org will be constantly slashdotted. Who wants a copy? Maybe I'll put it on KaZaa...
This is exactly like what DirecTV is doing - suing anyone who ever bought a smart card reader unless they pay DirecTV money... It's extortion. I wonder if the two CEOs here are buddies? It would explain the similarities in their general evilness:)
I am sure there are already many in the hacker community, and probably quite a few in the public who are willing to band together and take measures against the RIAA once they break the law and start DoSing. I believe I am not alone in relishing the prospect of no-holds-barred RIAA vs. WORLD conflict >-D . Just let me in on it, and you've got another cable modem on your side...
P.S. To the l33t h4x0rs/script kiddies, PLEASE don't forget to use your proxies... The last thing we need to do is give RIAA scapegoats. (Route all packets through www.goarmy.com);)

Next year, a 2GB chip line is started with the brand name "Isolinear"

People should realize that when a company starts making any movie named "1 1/2", it's time to sell your stock...

Um... ok. Although this sentiment is a little extreme, riaa.org will probably be DOSed again within a couple days anyway :-\
Can someone please make an anti-RIAA screensaver? It would just have to ping their site a little while your computer wasn't in use...
