So is O2. It takes life and sunlight to constantly replenish the element back into our atmosphere. Otherwise it will just be bound up in oxidation with something else. Most of it already has been with iron. Excess O2 did not start accumulating until about 1.7 billion years ago.
Correct. I'm simply illustrating that while there are historical facts, people's perception would state otherwise. That whole mantra of learning history to never repeat past mistakes? Ya well, we still repeat them regardless. You could say people are rather stupid than ignorant. You could also say that it's really human nature that's unwavering. It's one or the other, or perhaps both.
True, but sometimes you don't need that much backbone throughput in the switch. At least in my situation, I had a client that was already on a 100mb/s network. I needed to perform a server migration from an old box to a new one. To accomplish this as quickly as possible on a cheap budget, I found a TP-Link branded (model TL-SG1005D) 5-port Gig switch for under 20 bucks. I was extremely skeptical of the performance. Sure enough, I managed to get a sustain rate of 99% gigabit link utilization on both ends of a file transfer.
It was a temporary solution for a temporary project. While I could have used a crossover cable just as easily between the two server, they were in live production and thus transferring via DFS share was required.
Most likely an automated posting bot armed and ready with account to post anything that involves Windows 8 submissions. The bot checks Slashdot every so often waiting to pounce the moment such a story is published.
Just look at the bots submission time vs story submission time. Both say 9:15am. It's fucking obvious. It shouldn't be too difficult to flag these submissions that match behavioral patterns, then leave it up to the community to mod up or down to oblivion.
We've all smelt that fresh unboxing of a new product now and then. From tennis balls (pass out in a non-stop sniffing stupor on those), shoes, electronics, to stepping into a brand new car. But of all the memories of unboxing, opening up my SNES for the first time was the most impressionable. Nothing, and I mean nothing had the smell of excitement like a brand-freaking-new SNES console with Super Mario included. Ok, so maybe sex tops that.
Anything that's made of particle board with a thin plastic or vinyl laminate is garbage. It's easily prone to water damage and warping. Not to mention it's heavy as hell. Don't buy this crap! You can get better stuff made in vietnam in the same price range. And it's solid wood!
...yet. Only a matter of time. Soon his 1st amendment rights will be violated only later to be restored by the 2nd.
You're just pissed at his poo flinging. And he's pissed at that other woman's poo flinging to get free pills paid for by our tax dollars. And you are an asshole for taking his 6th rule out of context. Which can only mean, rule #1 has been observed. Thank you for proving my point.
Close. The most important lessons I've learned is three fundamental truths in life. Everything else being immaterial nuance.
1. The world is governed by assholes. 2. The world is governed by the aggressive use of force. Rush Limbaugh's rule #6 3. We're just another money in the social hierarchical tree of life.
Yup. That pretty much sums up humanity and our world history.
The larger the organization, the more diversified of a skillset you need. So while a fortune 500 will require teams of lvl1 help desk folk, a small business of 50 employees only needs one admin that also fulfills the help desk role in every way possible. For an organization of 100, the need for a lvl1 help desk isn't needed unless you have complexity issues and no security standards in place. A good sysadmin can make a lvl1 help desk position obsolete in that case. In some cases, a lvl2 help desk jocky can also double as a jr sysadmin.
Six people in an IT? Hopefully that only includes one admin, one lvl2 helpdesk guy, and the remaining four devs and data entry types. If those six are purely admins and heldesk, something ain't right. Too much bloat and inefficiencies going on.
Try a maglev train. Once I boarded one, I walked over to place my bag in the designated holding area near the doors. There were no windows in my direct view, so I kept on sorting my stuff without distraction. As I was walking down the isle to my seat, I was taken back at the fact we were already moving at 90 kph. Not knowing when movement actually started was a bit unnerving and cool as hell at the same time.
It's called a front organization (a shell corporation). They express purpose is to firewall liability from the parent company. They should be illegal if not already. It's bad enough the parent co is granted personhood. Even worse when it's used as a shield.
It ment that the value of the yuan was tied to value of the US dollar. So nullification is in the form of a fixed exchange rate. Betting on the yuan was more or less the same as betting on the dollar and vice versa. Though because the value of the dollar has been dropping, China is experiencing inflation. This is why China is now looking to diversify so as to not be pulled under. Can't blame them really.
China also cheated by pegging the Yuan to the Dollar. That, and a cheap and abundant labor pool allowed for a flood of foreign investment. China is most certainly not a model to go by.
You want to see an epic waste of public funding by the Chinese government? Just look up ghost cities.
There are two sets of people, predominantly left vs right thinking on the issue of money.
Left - Believes the money was never yours to begin with. Ownership of it is limited and its value subjected to change. Not a bug, a feature. It's called inflation (a form of backdoor taxation). The government is allowed to spend because - again - it was never your money in the first place.
Right - Believes the value of the US federal fiat currency is only worth the private sector progress that it represents. If everyone stopped working tomorrow and forever, the value of the US dollar would be worthless. When the government taxes and spends excessively, the fruits of labor have been robbed from the people. This includes excessive military spending way beyond the threshold of diminishing returns.
It's 2012, and the Chinese government is practically communist in name only. Actually, it's a pure totalitarian regime with a primary focus on self preservation of said regime. N.Korea is a problem for China because should the N.Korean government fall, there will be a flood of Korean refugees jumping the Chinese border. They simply don't want to be sucked into the geopolitical maelstrom that would ensue.
China will avoid taking sides, but in the end both China and Russa would side with the US come decision time. Not without a some minor threatening words first, but they would fold easily. It's all politics.
The body of genomics provides no support for this.
Statistically, sure. Now I'm not making a bold claim here about genetics and human behavior among racial groups. But...but...buuutttt..., behavior, strength, body types, handicaps etc can run in the family via genetic traits however small or insignificant they may be. There's no reason not to believe mental and behavior biases (calm, alert, angry) are founded in our ancestral DNA as well.
For science sake, the only true way of ruling out genetics is to take a pair of identical twins and raise each one by a different family in a different country. Say, one in China, Middle East, and the other in America. Have the takes behavior and intelligent tests as they get older. Do this and compile the data with video footage of the children as the grow up and interact with family and friends. Now compare the results.
Interesting. So in theory, we could finally have universal port replicators on the market. Some may include their own dedicated graphics hardware. Or even better, perhaps a PC like breakout box (size of a shuttle PC) in which you can finally run GPU enabled Adobe products while in office while staying light footed on the road.
You could be God Almighty himself and be marked as "troll". The moderation has nothing to do with the facts. It has everything to do with whether or not you pissed someone off with mod points.
Not that I agree with it, just telling you how it is.
You didn't get the memo? IT people are machines. Typically they're good for between the ages of 21 through 40. You then expend them like a used husk. It's not an issue. There are endless supplies of smart, educated, born and raised on technology people to choose from. Only the elite will last longer without sleep. See, that's the resume' deciding factor there. ARE YOU MACHINE ENOUGH!? Well, are ya?

History begins the moment you're born. In other words, historical perspective varies from person to person.
And you don't think that event horizon won't grow larger due to conflict?

True. But the victim can mitigate abuse by not being so naive. It's a community effort by those that know to inform those that don't.
