An Israeli trance group, Astral Projection is worth listing too. You can check out their website at http://www.astral-projection.com./ Trance is one of my favorite genres of course. Recently I've ran into some some good stuff from China too.
I'm already reading about how more and more companies are exposing our privacy in order to make an extra buck. But what I want to know is this. How does the top executive staff feel about them and their own family members having to eat their own dog food. Or...do they???
All just add to what you've already said. Inflation is also responsible for creating a dividing rift between the rich and the poor. So much so that now the poor are begging politicians with their vote (whom they will happily take) as to needed more and more government assistance. Food, housing, clothing, education...etc. Well, all that has to be paid for somehow. The government doesn't have the money, so they print more of it causing (ready for this...?) even more INFLATION! Such Federal economic activities are simply unsustainable. It's the social plaque of nations. Death bringer of democracy and freedom.
What, and all the Communist nations on Earth were not Fascists? Let me tell you something. The only difference between Communism and Fascism is that under Communism, they LIE about being Fascist while under Fascism, they're completely open as to who they really are.
It should be noted, artor3, that our Federal Government is primarily responsible for creating a rift of favoritism between large corporations and small/medium businesses. "We The People" in government are constantly being bought off. Let me rephrase that for you. Our own citizens (politicians) are the one stabbing us in the collective back. What amazes me how so many people get all revved up over the rift between the rich and poor. Sure, the problem exists. At least more so than in the past 40 years. But the real underlying issue is the great rift between $MEGACORP and you're local SMB company. Why isn't anyone talking about that? I want the small company I work for to become wealthy too. But the market is weighted to favor the big dogs thanks to the rampant corruption in Washington.
Just Google for the PBS Nova episode on Watson. It's not self-aware, but if it was, he would have HAL today! Mind blowing achievement that I think gets little attention. If only we could pair the Siri interface with Watson, and have him tie back to Google, Wikipedia, and Wolfram Alpha, the amount of discoveries we could make would happen in weeks if not days.
I'm convinced this will be the case. The logic is almost there, and the hardware just needs a few more generations to shrink them into a home PC. But oh-my-God... would this not turn the global economy upside down and inside out? It would bust open entire paradigm shifts more so that what the Internet has done in the last 10 years alone. Scary and exciting at the same time.
At what point will we have a text based programming language that will compile the results into a DNA sequence? Coding the next plague wouldn’t be such good idea. Because you know, there are assholes in this world that would do just that.
Something along the likes of paying extra for that THX certification. Instead, it would be badged as having AppleTV. But unlike TVs and media players, interactive devices such as computers and game systems are constantly being upgraded. Unless they make an AppleTV cartridge (same guts found in the standalone units) specifically designed for TV set upgrades (think cable card concept), I'm not sure it's marketable.
Fanboi much? Look, Siri will not replace google -ever-! If anything, Siri paired up with Watson will augment searching to data using Google. Siri while ground breaking is still just another way of interacting with a computer. But it will never replace the need for a monitor and a search engine when it comes to visual presentation.
Actually, Apple can afford to be a loss-leader in this market. They already have the iOS platform combined with iTune, iCloud, and the App Store. All the ground work for successfully launching a game console and tie it all together with all their other products is already there. It's quite possible that the AppleTV3 or TV4 may have enough hardware to compete against the current generation of consoles now. But honestly, they don't need that kind of hardware because they wouldn't be going up against that market anyways currently dominate by Microsoft and Sony. If anything, Apple has Nintendo in its cross-hairs. They want to be in the same low-cost family oriented kid friendly market. They can do this and win without question. Many years later, it will be Nintendo pulling a "Sega" and coding games for Apple's platform. Not to be flippant about it, but it's so obvious as to what market Apple will go after and the methods by which to approach. If I was Nintendo, I would be running scared!
Oh, there are many heros among the police force. Criminals too as you've pointed out. Some of the filth these guys have to walk into (drug infested slums and dark alleyways) takes a serious set of balls. Personally, I think they do it for the adrenaline rush. No wonder many burnout and get jaded over time.
I'm torn on this. On one hand, he is a hero. On the other, that camera was paid for with US tax dollars and itemized as government property. It probably would have slipped under the radar except he attempted to profit off it. Basically he went about this the wrong way. Also anyone who has, and ever will work with any governmental agency will tell you, GET IT IN WRITING with hand signatures. Hearsay doesn't mean diddly-squat to them.
Pretty much. The idea of a superhero is someone that can do good against the odds and live another day to do it all over again. It's the classic morale boosting story about how good can always overcome evil. This is why such stories are mainly presented to children. It's uplifting. Unfortunately the real world isn't so kind with reality siding with evil as being effective. And let's face it, there have been many evil men and regimes that have been very very effective at accomplishing their goals. But yes, these guys are real heros for going up against bad people against the odds. Firemen, police officers, and even the peace corps rank among heros.
There are better theoretical designs than your typical reciprocating engine. Unfortunately, they suffer serious issues in one form or another preventing them gaining market share and acceptance. The range from reliability, controlling emissions, fuel efficiencies, ability to machine the engines cost effectively, and the low cost maintenance. One of the serious drawbacks to the older Rotaries was carbon fouling and broken apex seals. Yet the Rotary is still the best alternative IC engine out there.
What I want see if possible is a diesel rotary. I doubt such an engine and its seals could handle the stress though.
I'm only replying because so far, I'm catching hell. Yes. I'm trying to decrease the time it takes for backups to finish. I guess I was trying to word it as increasing the transfer rate so backups finish sooner. Anyways, long day at work and all that....

Ya, and maybe they'll call it Trance. Oh wait...
I recommend Chicane, Juno Reactor, and Tangerine Dream. For anything streaming, check out somafm.com
Given that people in power tend to have more psychopathic traits than the average person, your point is well taken.

Do you really want to blow up the machine? I'm not sure it can handle their load of BS.
This would never be allowed to be used in America. God forbid politicians and CEOs hear about this technology.

Then you of all people should know that computers are logical, not emotional. That's why you wont get the vague biased political answer that you seek.

Unions and the media VOTE DEMOCRAT! God damn, are you that clueless? Yes, it is a left issue.

b) dildos
I doubt Bart and Beavis will be crafting one of these, but their mothers might. Talk about a choking hazard...

Does SOE enforce password complexity requirements? If not, I'm guessing all these vulnerable accounts were using easy-to-guess passwords.

Pallywood anyone?
