Only a handful of people in this day and age have really been persecuted. If you want to get technical about it just about everyone has been persecuted in their lineage and slavery could well be a part of that too. People can only think of recent history and what the politicos on TV tell them. Do you believe that the US was the only country to ever institute slavery and that blacks were the only people ever enslaved? You do know where this ideology was imported from don't you? Do you think nobody besides the Jews were ever persecuted by Hitler or any other person/regime? You need a reality check. The OP is a troll and this stuff is no more appropriate being directed at WASPS than blacks or Jews.
Ah but to comply with 9.42: (A) the land or property cannot be protected or
recovered by any other means; or (B) the use of force other than deadly force to
protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.
Definitely true, writing secure apps goes a long way. I think two of the largest contributors to Windows insecurity are a) Running everything as Administrator; and b) Clueless configuration (They do have some relation).
Someone who has a mediocre grasp on system configuration can lock down a Windows box pretty easily. When we think of Linux this is a given because for the most part clueless users wouldn't be using Linux to being with. Though if I just threw up some Red Hat 7.x box right now on the net with no firewall and all services turned on you can bet I'd have some issues.
There's nothing 'wrong' with the 15 yr old kids on the forum and I certainly hope that they aren't offended by my post. The point is that if you want to consider Googling a form of support then Windows also has a vast support bank at your fingertips. No calls to MS required (though most places outsource this support to other companies or hire their own).
"Hey what's that in his hand? Can you enhance that so we can read the writing on that note?"
"Absolutely! I'll use my 3D modeling software to virtually reconstruct the note based on the camera footage and flip it over."
"I think it's in an envelope, though."
"No problem, I'll just turn on the thermal imaging X-ray subroutine that comes with the camera footage. It will detect the ink and construct an image for us."
"Okay but can you hurry up a bit, we have about 60 seconds until some plot event happens that will render the suspect uncatchable."
I love Linux as much as the next guy, but either you have a niche job or you are confusing Linux with something else! Reasonable support - did you mean the 15 year olds on the forum or do you pay for some Linux+ certified phone jockey? The programs you need to do your work - Again, you must have a niche job because 95% of the workforce apps that are used daily by people are running in Windows. Configurable - Yeah it's configurable but ease comes with experience, so from a beginner's standpoint I'd hardly call it easy compared to Windows.
No kidding. I don't think these execs really get it. P2P got huge because the downloaders were getting stuff for free. I mean it's good that they are tapping the resource and at least attempting to do something 'modern', but if I'm going to pay money I want real on-demand... not getting on their P2P network and waiting to download the whole thing from peers. I guess you might be able to get it faster than a subscription service like Netflix (considering mail time), but then again you don't have a DVD, you have a video file which you have to play on a computer (or output to your TV if you have that setup).
Plus the 24 hour thing. What if I can't watch it right away? I would be mad if it expired after 24 hours. I hate DRM but if they are going to use it they should at least protect it in such a way that you can wait to view it or even watch it multiple times on the same computer.
But then -insert regulatory body- will slap a fine on them for packaging things with Windows. And then everyone will complain about Microsoft the evil monopoly (convicted, mind you!!)... and then Google will create an OS that does the same thing and get accolades from the community and become a true hero of the 21st century!
I think the push is going to come from Asia mostly because they got the short end of the stick on IPv4 allocation. The US has a history of leading (or at least being one of the leaders) of this type of infrastructure planning and change, and as long as US companies/orgs have most of the IPs and things are running smoothly, there is little motivation for them to change at all.

or maybe you don't, but the OP doesn't work for the TSA. His ramblings are inconsequential.
And that's when it's time to call Jude Law.
I'm glad you stayed in the closet because wherever you live now has infected you with BS and you are now spewing it from your mouth. *rolleyes*
Oh wait wrong lawsuit! EFF rules and they are the l33test people ever!
So the spyware has to be pretty deadly!
Sony needs killin'. 'Nuff said.
No, we outsource that to Japanese Samurais. Our cowboys are way too busy killing Injuns.
Interesting point, however there is a bit of a leap between being influenced to commit murder and being influenced to doubt the evidence of such!

God Bless you and the freedom you stand for!

Well as soon as they are as evil as Intel we can all root for Cyrix. Then we'll be cool again.
No, but word has it that Dell is secretly devoting resources to developing Duke Nukem Forever.
Exactly. It's not the speed of the clock, it's the suction of the instruction.

This have disaster writed all over it!
You better shut your iHole!
Oh yeah we usually use those to elevate our privileges once we're in. ;)
And here I thought I would avoid these problems with BeOS.
