For IIS5, find the correct path using an app like MetaEdit For IIS6, lookup the path in Metabase.xml then pass the path parameter and value to adsutil.vbs
First of all the source of the aritcle is the Inquirer. Which is know for deliberabely twisting news. It therefore not a credible source of information.
Second If you have closely followed Microsoft previous statements at WinHec and in MSDN articles you would knbow that Longhorn will provide XP style rendering on older graphics cards. Systems with newer graphic chips will have full 3D accelerated graphics thereby taking the rendering work away from the CPU and improving performance.
Having worked as a programmer with patent offices of HP I know that is very untrue. IBM has has it fair share of dubious patents.
Consider Patent 6,839,893 awarded to IBM for example. This is patent with clear prior art. I had used debuggers back in 1995 which were capable of pointing out unreachable breakpoints.
The reason that Amazon and Microsoft get so much publicity in Slashdot are other obvious reasons.
The new toolbar beta doesn't use any code from Lookout. MSN rewrote the entire application. Lookout was a.Net application, the new toolbar is entirely in C/C++. Checkout Channel 9 for information.
You are right non Office products don't always write proper Office compatible documents. Thats why I just use MS Office. Atleast I am assured that everybody can read my documents.
The card isn't without drawbacks; while the ATI chip is capable of supporting QAM modulation (a cable TV delivery system) they've chosen to disable its use for the HDTV Wonder, and it also stores the files in a slightly non-standard manner.
The ATI card has a chip to handle QAM but unfortunatenly it is disabled. Therefore it is no use for most Digital Cable in the US even if the signal is not encrypted.
The article is not quite right. HDTV is possible in Media Center using the VBox DTA-111 card. Just install the BGA drivers you can record and view HDTV in all its glory on a MCE.
Multi-tuner support is available in the next version of MCE (codename Symphony) which will be released by the end of this month. Along with a host of features including caller ID
Maybe Apple paid him too.
Raw Sockets are not disabled at the server versions.
Under Windows 2003, programs with admin privleges can use Raw sockets.
There are 3 IIS vulnerabilies since last 3 years.
One of them is not even exploitable unless you are an admin!
Compare that with the 'mainstream' Webserver which averages 12 critical per year.
Its the same images you get on their website.
Nothing to get excited about. (or maybe not!)
Thats easy. Use adsutil.vbs
For IIS5, find the correct path using an app like MetaEdit

Thats not an example what cannot be scripted.
This is an easy one line script code using netsh for each connection type.

It is a compressed zip file.
Rename it to zip and extract the files.
The extracted files are usually larger or about the size of Word documents.
How did you manage to properly indend the code?
Don't you realize this is Slashdot.
He had to make an idiotic comment like that to get his story in.
Anyways SQL Server runs fine on XP.
IE has a search sidebar.
And surprise surprise it is configurable.
BTW, My brother goes to the same college as you.
The format specification is available on Microsoft's website.
No need to reverse engineer something which has a publiclly available specification.
Wow! That is a lot for cable.
You should move to satellite TV it comes out to be much cheaper.
I would disregard the risk comment as an obligatory slashdot troll.
No one is at any higer risk than other since everybody gets the patches at the same time.
Media extenders (for XBox or standalone), which is supposed to ship this Christmas season, will allow this in conjuntion with a Windows Media Center.

Do have Daemon tools or 120% Alchol installed.
Or any appplication which emulates CDs.
These applications are notorious in locking system files.
You should uninstall the application and then install SP2.
You can reinstall the emulation program
