For me mostly it's re-purposing old(er) PCs whenever possible as my job entails accruing large amounts of hardware as time goes by, so I'll gut an old Dell (or whatever), as long as it can handle the necessary video card, since the main PC is the one doing all the work.
There's also some nice offerings in the 'all-in-one' market these days, basically a slightly fatter LCD screen with the guts in the back, and the prices are starting to get good.
My best advice would be to hit up some forums, there's practically one for every little niche project out there, especially when it comes to hardware.
Their hardware list is a little sad. I was hoping they provided some sort of thin-client which was multimedia capable, and available in the US. Small profile, fanless, with Ethernet/Wifi, capable of Audio & Video and hopefully a remote control.
No, it's still very much roll your own, which is how I like it since I'm more of a hardware guy, but a thin client is easy and cheap to build, even mostly off the shelf as opposed to components.
Well, that's great and all, but there is such a thing as local ecology, which would be important to the locals. "Environmental concerns" are not some global, zero-sum game.
Yeah, well, we did that in 1997 and elected Labour. Right after that, Blair turned the party hard right, cut the Tories' balls off, and the rest is history. If the Lib Dems had ever been able to get their shit together, we might have had a chance, but now, we are just like the US, with two different flavours of corporatist parties. It's over.
I would use MY right of free speech to disprove the accusation. In other words I would post photos of my establishment, showing that it is clean.
Ugh. As a business owner, the last thing I want to do is get in some public pissing match, regardless of the truth of the matter. Too much attention, good or bad, can destroy a business in seconds. Not to mention that "speaking out" costs more money.
The point is, speech may be a fundamental right, but that doesn't strip it of its consequences.
Endless copyright may be wrong but that will change eventually
You're not very good at extrapolation, are you? I'll admit I share a very tiny sliver of your hope, but I'm certainly not holding my breath. If any kind of sane copyright laws get enacted during my lifetime, I'll be very surprised.
Well, it is slashdot after all, which is the 'Net's equivalent of Orwell's "Two Minutes Hate": the editors post inane stories in the most inflammatory language possible, the crowd all goes apeshit for a short time, and then moves on to the next thing, having done nothing, accomplished nothing, and learned nothing.
3 rows deep? You wasted money. Island maps in SC are a piece of piss, even up against several AI. Not only do you not need anywhere near as much cannon as you said, you don't have to build them until later in the game, giving you cash to get production ramped up quickly. Plus, it's all air battles, so you save even more cash not having to build any (or almost any) land units.
Skiff eliminates a middleman, namely Amazon...
Which is a worthless point since that elimination will not be passed on to the consumer in the form of "cheaper than Kindle".
You mean like all the times that Microsoft gets blasted when they are just providing a new FREE service that sucks?
Fixed that for you.
Got to agree with you on both Brother and HP (to my horror). The 2 HP 1320 Laserjets I've had for the last 4 years have performed like champs.
See my reply to your sibling.

Only just started fiddling with it, but it looks incredible. Always find it odd it doesn't get more mention when these topics arise.
This is not only the funniest, but the most correct response in the entire thread. Somebody please chuck mod points at parent until he bursts.
Awww, somebody's bitter their startup's still not around...
What's wrong with that picture?
Uhh, the Dems are in charge so he should be whining like the rest of his party about unchecked socialistic power? Seriously, this:
He recently introduced legislation that would grant the Attorney General the right to infringe on your constitutional rights without due process.
would have made sense 2 years ago, but now? He's committing career suicide enabling the Dems in this fashion. Weird.
Payback's a bitch.

Or you could just do it over "stolen" wifi instead, giving you the bonus of further concealing your tracks.
Jeez, either bluehost are dicks or you practically raped one of their servers.
I've been using my hostspace for years to transfer and backup important stuff and never had a problem.

No, you need new politicians. Which, in the UK's case, means you're due for another round of governance by the Tories. So you're basically fucked.
Hey, if it's good enough for libertarians, it's good enough for all of us!

Personally I think libel/slander laws are stupid.
Awesome! Please email me your name, your address, and your place of work. Take me a week, tops, to fuck all that up for you with mere words.
Don't think of it as an abridgment of free speech, think of it as economic assault. That's what the laws are for.
Yeah, cams suck, I'm waiting for the DVD rip.
and Monkeedude wins FPOTD! Cheers, that was awesome.

Jeez, but the mods have trigger fingers. Note to the idiots: If parent had included a link to goatse in his post, a troll mod would be justified.
As it is, just give him a couple of funny mods and untwist your panties.
