well you can get a better PC for less than a mac so they couldn't aford an elegant (read we spent more time designing the outside than inside)anyway.

all the people i ever met who were considering a mac (and thats a lot as always seem to have people coomming to me for advice on what to buy) had never owned anysort of computer in ther life and were rather shocked when i told them that it was not compatable with PC's.

XP is definetly a god send (despite after my recent re-installation it now won't register). but I can't wait for Linux to be a bit more mature (alright the main reson i don't switch enterlly to Linux is gaming). but i have to say XP is impresive when compared to all other windows but maybe i just comparing a (old) skoda to a reliant.

The problem that many of us have with socialism isn't with the theory, it's with the practice. From each according to his means, and to each according to his needs is fair, in theory. In practice it's from each according to his means and to each according to his political connections. For example, the people of Cuba are starving, but Fidel never misses a meal.

Thats Comunnism and there has not been a communist system that didn't act like that. socialism is a diffrent beast (althought plenty of communists said they where socialists)there are many countrys that have socialist policies for example any country that has state run schools and country that has a non oppresive law enforcment any country that has equal rights and oppertunity. 3 countrys that come to mind that don't/didn't have socialist ideas are Iraq Iran and Afghanistan

I don't know about where YOU come from, but where I am, hospitals send you a bill. Either you pay it, your insurance pays it, or nobody pays it. In the last case, the hospital needs to make up for that loss somehow, so the people that do pay get higher bills.

If you want the perfect example of this take a look at British leyland and british manufacturing in general during the late 60's earley 70's they were below standard cars with workers inclinded to strike at the drop of a hat they deservedly failed. now after years of intensive care most car manufactures have a plant here especially for high performance engines and suspension most of the formula 1 teams are based here as well as most of the World rally Cars this would have been unthinkable during the leyland years in other words survival of the fittest if you can't compete dont blame the opposition for being better instead improve youself.

it is about destroying high paying jobs and moving them overseas.

any jobs that are lost will be throught an un willingness to change to the situation and you can bet it won't be the high paid who lose there job they will be the ones deciding how many to sack so they can keep reciving the same wage.

As far as I can see it's Anti Linux Zealot's who are doing the majority of the terrorising (think Sco) and this coming from someone who Rob Enderle would class as a pro because I am neutral between Linux and windows and try to use the most appropriate for what I want to do. once again socialism is linked to communism despite socialism being aplicable to either capitalism or comunism. (for the record i am a socialist and i am a capitalist)i dont support comunism because it takes away the basic rights of people and places the state above the person. i dont support anti socialism because that would mean i have to be a C**t to people. Most people who say they are not socialists are, if you care about someone thats socialism if you help a neighbour or the community that's socialism if you better the world even in the tiniest way possible that's socialism, it has nothing to do with the economic or politacle system.
