  1. Bad basis; crock-o-shit on IT Outsourcing Need Not Threaten Our Future · · Score: -1

And I quote, " But if we focus on our traditional strengths in technology and engineeringespecially creativity and innovationI believe our future will be brighter than our past." Innovation in the US greatly relies on in-sourcing. That is, bringing the brightest and best to the US to study and contribute. Face it, most of the white-bread yank shits are not worth a pinch of rocking horse shit. They need, nay, require innovation from foreign researchers and student. So, what has the US done? In their terribly misguided efforts to defend their right to be the ONLY REAL international "terrrrists" (to quote GWB), the US has closed the valve on in-sourcing the bright and talented from overseas. You yanks (or is it wanks?) are getting what your deserve. Learn to deal with it. Maybe you could open another school to teach Columbians how to tourture captives? The US has been on top, grabbing money and getting lazy for too long. The tide is turning. Horray for the world!!!

  7. 13" wingspan... on Microdrone Spy Planes · · Score: 1

I have been flying electric R/C for several years now. I have had many "little" R/C planes, as well as a few electric 1/4 scale, The best flyer's are the 3 meter sail planes that use screaming fast, high current motors to get them to altitude in a hurry.

The bigger the plane, the easier it is to fly. Wind penetration and control. Big craft with lots of power can get into the wind, and bigger looks slower = easier to fly.

I have flown many many little craft. A couple of real screamers (about 14" span). They go like raped apes, but are almost impossible to control. The learning curve is incredably steep. You can make little craft easier to control, but you gotta slow them down. If you slow them down, wind penetration is terrible.

Put autopilots on them? Hardly. Any excess weight makes everything worse. Need more lift, means more power, means more speed.

I would like to have a couple dozen of them to crash, though, just to see what they fly like...

Oh yeah, don't take any money with you, you should wear $9.99 shoes from Discount Shoe Warehouse (old would be best), old clothes from salvo, and fer jeff's sake don't wear ANY jewelry.

Or, maybe you could just go to Manhattan Computer World? There are lots of stores in NYC where you can buy laptops... It only seems primative. Let your fingers do the walking!

BTW - Almost any place will FedEx or UPS to a hotel. It's done quite often, actually.

maybe there should be a part of the UN for international space exploration? Sort of de-couple the use and exploration of space from mega-corpoartions? Well, on second thought, I think it's impossible. There will never be another era of altruistic exploration, as all of the vehicle makers are publicly traded. Where's the profit in funding a Russian corp? Get a grip, folks, it's all about return on investments. Nobody wants science for knowledge, it's science for profit! Maybe the Russians could make an expanded rerun of 20 year old technology, but as long as Wall street doesn't care about it, it ain't gonna happen in any big way. Just a thought...
