Hello Nigerian Friend
I am Mr. Horvath-Howard from Canada. As I have recently become in trouble with the law, I am looking to get my millions which I have earned through my dealing out of the country and into Nigeria. I have $50,000,000 sitting in a bank account here, but I need the help of a Nigerian citizen like yourself. If you would help me, I would split the money with you, givng you $25,000,000.
PLEASE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED REPLY BACK TO MY ACCOUNT WITH YOUR PHONE NUMBER AND BANK PIN NUMBER. I AM WAITING TO COMPLETE THE DEAL. I RESPECT YOU AND REALLY LIKE YOU. I HOPE YOU WILL JOIN THIS AMAZING OPPORTUNITY.
I think part of the idea of this was to take computers right off the line in a regular configuration. It's kind of like saying that I could get my Honda to go 0-60 faster if I removed the back seats. They weren't trying to be street racers. If they were they could have built x86 machines from scratch and save even more cash.
I have been sitting here by my 1100 node G5 cluster trying to copy a 17.6 MB file for the last 20 minutes. It is so freaking slow now that I only get 44% efficiency. On my 1.5 Ghz P3 I would be able to do this in under 20 seconds......
sigh... here we go again with rumors of Apple dying.

If someone were to invent a way of safely transferring small amounts of electricity reliably, that would be a larger breakthrough than Bluetooth. The new Apple mouse, gorgeous as it is, weighs a lot. Perhaps they should invent one with a cell phone battery....
ITMS will never offer ogg vorbis downloads. The only reason they are not offering MP3 downloads is that their own fomat sounds better at 128 than MP3 does. While vorbis might sounds better than AAC, after coming up with there own format, it is absurd to say that they will abandon it in favor of something open source.
Imagine open source with DRM, how sacreligous would that be?
come on.
everybody knows that this is SCO's IP, and that you should pay them $699 to use it.

imagine a beowulf cluster of these
The x86 cluster would have been twice as expensive. And this outpreforms the highest ranking x86 cluster, which has more processors.
this once again proves what mac fans have known forever.
Dollar for dollar, macs give more power and are a better value than PC's.
the need for a logo is obvious. After all, /. was forced to use the linux logo for this.
I think I will just wait for longhorn before I upgrade my OS again.
i use metric, you insensitive clod!

It uses Linux, therefore it must be good. QED.
Somewhere in Ken Lay's mind a little voice speaks. "Why didn't I wait until Office2003?"
wait. that means that they plan on using them soon.
no Apple either. very strange.
I'm 3'2", you insensitive clod!
Like the free software song!

Being that you read /. we all know your girlfriend is a webcam girl somewhere out in Japan which costs you $29.99 a month.
It appears to me that the solution is blatantly obvious.
You have to upgrade to a G5.

I for one welcome our new taxing government overlords/
wait a second ...
