first of all, that is GNU/emacs. Second of all, did it ever occur to anyone that a text editor should be used for editing text. It should not give you html tags. it should not color your code. it should just display what you wrote. next thing you know we'll be seeing GNU/Clippy. "it looks like you're designing a web page. it looks like you're designing a web page." wtf. text editors should not be made up of over a million lines of code. what happened to the good old days of vi. screw RMS, he should have stuck with compilers.
IANATE (I am not a troll either). I wrote a java implementation of the file browser (Finder), and I am trying to use it to copy a 17.6MB files from my desktop to my home folder, and I have been sitting here for 20 minutes and its nowhere near complete. I could do the same thing on my 533 MHz Celeron in under a minute.
last time the worms were running around at the office, we did not have any macs, linux, solaris, and *bsd boxes to not get infected b/c some PHB went for the M$ commercials hook line and sinker.
But we can do all of these things through education. We don't need the UN/Geneva/Britney Spears to tell us how this whole thing should work.
Yes, but we definately need Britney Spears for other things....
f I'm not mistaken, they're mostly visual, so you just need something that looks like a retina -- and the machine isn't going to complain if you're holding up your "eye" to the censor as opposed to leaning down to it.
all you have to do is put your eye against the glass of a copy machine....
The whole thing is a scam. Unless companies allow you to go month by month, you can't switch b/c their service is bad. Seriously, how many people had the opportunity to switch, but would not b/c they would lose their number.
again, like in everything else parenting, the only way to do it well is to take a serious interest in what your children are doing. Either
A. Constanly be there when they are using the machine. or
B. get an isp which will report all the sites that your children go to. And then go through the list carefully, making sure there are no sites in there you dont want them seeing.
All other ways, such as blocks will not work b/c they will either let in too much bad, or not let in enough good, or both.
how about liquid mercury. oh never mind.
it can't become popular b/c it is built on BSD, and BSD is dying. Or b/c Apple is dying. 2 for the price of one.

Pot.insult.Kettle("Black")
better test. if they use windows, they fail.

Gosh, don't any of you know that the punishment for sending spam in Nigeria is Windows.
all you have to do is put your eye against the glass of a copy machine ....
or that people care how much milk their laptop weighs.

what are they doing with the old ones. *gets down on hands and knees and begs*
Everybody knows they could have done this faster and cheaper if they were running BSD.
*ducks to avoid flames*
release a patch 2 change settings. wtf are you thinking. then everybody downloads it, and people get angry because things stop working.
except um, um, vi and um let me think for a second ... uh, emacs.
Even more expensive than my new server from dell running windows.
imagine a penguin chargin at you at 100 moh
i would have thought he got his degree from one of those nigerian spammers.
why bother? it would probably forget to convert to metric anyway.
i would propose using kill -9.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned any of the papers by RMS. While not so much technical, they address many issues relating to developing software.
Whats wrong with the other 0.01% of teenage males.
Its perfectly normal and ok to like to see porn, but that does not make looking at it any less wrong.
I'll probably get flamed for saying this, but what the heck. GOOD JOB!!

Nobody ever said parenting was easy.
