Dammit, the theme song is the only thing good about enterprise.
I started watching more then 10 years ago. I was so fond of Star Trek, I even bought myself a uniform. Now, I barely dare to mention I am a trekkie.
I am switching to SG1. The best part about that is, that I haven't seen the first seasons. So as with TNG, I can watch the reruns hoping to catch some unseen episode.
There are limits to free speech, you know. If this guy is raising funds for and supporting a war conducted by terrorists. Then by all means, shut him down. Drag his ass into court, not to Guantunamo (sp?) bay. Free speech is nice, but not when it is used to kill people, or to attempt to kill people or to encourage people to kill people.
Don't forget xgrid. A beta has been announced at apple Build you own supercluster at home...
At the moment, though I wish I had a supercluster of money presses.
I don't drink coca cola or any derivant (eg pepsi). It's all rat poison anyway.:)
But I have seen TV-shows where they have been tested for taste. A panel tastes them blind and rate them. According to them Coca Cola had the worst taste. Don't know wich one came out on top.
Yet Coca cola is the best selling one.
Coca cola company is also the softdrinkcompany that spends the most money on commercials.
Commercials do work. Perhaps not for you for this product, but it will for others or for you with other products.
And the more you repeat something the more people will start believing it. For that take a look on the Iraq-USA war propaganda.
Some companies see it in their salesfigures when they do commercials and when not.
I don't hate commercials because they try to sell me something. I hate them because they try to trick/force/mindalter/lure me into buying their junk, wich I might even not need.
Do you buy something because you need it or because of commercials?
Try this. When you see a commercial, don't buy that product for say a week. Do that with e.g. coke or fanta.
I almost never buy it anymore, save for a party. (fanta, not coke). After a while you don't miss it anymore and you can ask yourself the question: Did I buy because I wanted to, because I saw some add?
Oh, the horor...
Would you trust yourself flying at such speeds and altitudes with only a week of training. Imagine all the things that could go wrong.
Would you trust your life with a complete stranger, who has a week worth of training.
Would you trust that person if (s)he never even have set a foot in an airplane.
Would you trust yourself with the lives of others with a week of training?
Would you trust yourself with the lives of the people living beneath your flightplan (or crashzone)?
Would the government trust you, a pilot with a week of training, flying over inhabited space?
Would you trust someone with a week of training flying overhead?
Now, if I had the chance to do this, I would. Either everything goes fine and it would be one heck of a kick. Or either something goes wrong, I crash and a few people including me are dead. Since I will be dead, I won't care about the others who died. A nice benefit of being an atheist.
But still, something tells me this is a horrible businessplan. Or perhaps it is so heavily automated and safe that calling yourself a pilot is a mockery of the word.
Yes, privacy is an important issue. Don't (try to) violate mine, or I will go beserk.
Now, I defend this right for both parties because you can not expect that they uphold your right if you continually violate theirs.
By defending their rights, I am defending mine.
As to Clinton having an affair. I don't regard that as a cause for impeachment. That is a problem between him, his wife and his mistress. Thus a matter of his privacy.
On the other hand, he had an affair with a White House employee. That could be a ground for impeachment, if it compromises his ability to function as president. The fact alone of having sex, with whomever is not sufficient cause.
They do have a private life, you know.
It is not our concern who they sleep with, eat with, talk to in their personal time.
It is not because they hold a public office, they don't have a right to privacy. Everything that doesn't influence the execution of their mandate is not our concern, and should remain private. Public life != Big Brother
Perhaps I am stupid, or I just don't understand certain nuances of english language.
I RTFA, and I am in doubt.
It says 2 out of 3 mission failed.
But 2 out of 3 missions since whenever we started or 2 out of the three 3 currently on route? The latter would leave the european one still working, the first would leave us with 1 (US) dead, two (US and EU) on route.
And wasn't there also 1 (japanese) craft about wich I don't know the current status?
TFA also described the landing sequence of one of the pods, wich is still to occur (somewhere in december/january) leaving me with the impression that the hard part, and thus a (great) risk of failure is still ahead of us.
So please enlighten me...
Or am I not stupid, and should I just have said?:
RTFA
Should the rest of the world live under the tiranny of the USA? Can the rest of the world still do something without fear of the USA?
Who gave the USA absolute power over the rest of the world?
Perhaps they have it, but that does not mean they deserve it.
I prefer to do whatever I want, without fear of the USA.
I am not saying that every nation in the world should have nukes, but neither should the USA have such capability.
The tiranny of a dictator is replaced by the tiranny of the president of the USA.
Now, if the UN has absolute military power. That's something I can live with.

Well, France is part of the european union. It's not the european union.
The policy of EFDA, if I am not mistaking (could be euratom as well) is that research in fusion can only be for peaceful-puposes.
I was referring to that, not to projects undertaken by a specific country.
Most fusion-research in the EU is with tokomaks and stellerators, indeed.
A lott of the research into ICF (inertial confinement fusion, meaning with lasers) happens in the United States.
I guess it's no coincident that fusion through tokomaks can only be used as a power source, but ICF also as a weapon.
and a fishingboat.
Hey, lett me know when you start flooding the ocean with them. I can always use a new laptop or cellphone.
And the **AA thought kazaa-users were pirats.
Imagine the outcry if their cd's are gone as well.
But what will be counted?
The electronic votes or the printed votes.
Who says they are the same?
Who says people will even bother reading the piece of paper?
Can't mistakes be made with paper as well?
Look at Florida (or was it california, in the 2000-election). Some people intended to vote, but screwed up. Either because of bad layout or because they didn't "marked" (gaatje in papier prikken) the ballot right.
Or (for the sake or argument) even worse, some candidates names missing on certain ballots. Perhaps not all of them, but on some.
You can't check every computer. Can you check every piece of paper?

if so, it was a successful campaign.
If not:
Ads are never objective. They try to sell you something, convince you of their truth.
just keep rereading it until you do.

I believe that nanotech, just like AI and superconductivity, is a pipe dream.
Superconductivity will be used in ITER. The next big thing for plasma physics.

They are PART of the EU.
As Texas or Florida is part of the USA.
Or is California = USA
So perhaps Schwarzenegger = president of the USA?
