I've read about 8 books on Aliens, Alien Abductions, Remote viewing of aliens, Roswell, etc......In the end i still dont know. I am a doubter on Roswell, however if you add in the math of all potential planets that could support life in universe you get some big numbers. However if one feels the desire to get serious about aliens then we need to frame its occurance thru history as the author Valle did in the mid 1960's. From little green men or "wee-people" to a flying device spotted by many in the western U.S. in the late 1800's, to wonderings of some if our angels and chariots of fire were really visiters from far away: i still wonder. Roswell is one point in time and a short piece of the story. The real story is the link of possible visitations/contact and to god, or higher powersthrought history. The progress of our technology since Roswell has been extrodinary if you frame it in terms of number of years to get to the level of technology then and now. Think about it. If we havent ever been visited by aliens that means we probably are not worth having in any union of trans galactic life forms. We are part of the galaxy, universe, no matter if we tend to micro think or for the few geniuses think in universalterms

SCO needs a way to make sure that its Unix programs aren't being pirated. The only way to do that is to make sure that the appropriate libraries arent being copied, stolen, etc.. from unix to linux. Apparently they think they can license the libraries and make $. The linux API's do not allow unix programs to run without the libraries. SCO naturally wants their applications to work on linux cause they make $ that way. They accuse IBM and Redhat, and Suse of giving the knowledge of how to incorporate unis libraries into linux. It wont fly, because in there white paper (linked above) they state that the native linux API is open source and therfore i take it "clean". I hope someone out there reads this and lets me know if what im reading is correct. So in essense they want us to buy a 140$ system v license in order to run unix programs that we do not even need. I applaude the wise folks in charge in Munich, and in Britian. It seems to me that the U.S. is getting slower and slower to respond to potential money saving efforts as the "win to lin" platform switch. I guess local and state governments in the U.S. just dont want to save money. They HAVE to spend it. Taxpayers should demand the saving (but since when has the U.S. government actually listened to us?). Also i saw posted that only a dummy would completely quit windows. Paint me stupid but i dumped Windows three years ago entirely. I wonder what amount of money is to be realized by the switch. Surely it isnt chicken feed. About the only parallel i can draw is to redhats Open Source Now! project and I think the pilot scholls running Linux are very happy with their savings. Once you completely transition from windows you dont even miss it. You just do things differently. It may cost a little more to switch machines that have win modems in them but factor in the cost savings over 3 or 4 years and it really makes sense. I wonder what the government in Munich will spend their new found money on now? I just think that its great. What do you call 20-30K workstations running linux? A damn good start.

It is the way they are going and its damn the torpedoes full speed ahead. The source code IBM is accused of polluting is already under gpl. Once the secret is out its is no longer well, a secret any more right? Right. IBM would have to pay damages right? right. However a clean version of Linux would come out a la suse or Red HAT if it is proven that there is a couple of hundreds lines of sco code right? Right. We would then know what was inserted if anything. In the end IBM or SCO would not have control of Linux. Rather, they would have control of the remedy right? Right. I guess what im trying to sayis that only SCO knows whether there truly is a contamination and they are not telling where it is. Also I wonder if the NDA required by SCO would apply to BSD developers? I mean i think that IBM knows that its in a win-win situation here. Its convoluted but they are honestly going to win either way. Linux will too because its is way bigger than either one of these guys. Also SCO said its was kernel 2.4 that was the problem. I guess i could go back to an earlier version and be immune then right? RIGHT!!!

Also any of you guys seen the coleman powermate fuel cell for workstations? www.airgen.com It is pretty neat. I am not a programmer, but have been using linux for about 5 years. I have been an environmentalist all my life. A hydrogen economy is very important for a number of reasons. The most important is that it makes national security well,,more secure. one day our cell phones will run off of butane lighter fluid going through a reformer to produce H2. However the solar powered H2O electrolysis is prebably going to be what most folks use in 30 years. i too am waiting on a fuel cell vehicle. I will buy one. Until then its a prius for my day to day driving, and a Ford F250 powerstroke 4*4 for when i really want to blow some smoke. However biodiesel may in fact be more important to my truck, than a fuel cell in ten years for my car.
