how do we know if something outside the universe isnt affecting it.
I'd like to think we live on an electron in orbit around the proton of a molecule as part of a giant coffee mug -- our universe is expanding due to some even bigger geek having just poured hot coffee in our universal mug.
It's "dark" cuz that's how this geek likes his coffee.

I'm not afraid of that scenario, because if it happens, we can easily adapt to in-house hydroponics, powered by hydro-electricity (at least here in Canada).
A lot of people use in-house hydroponics year-round already, although mostly not to cultivate food... but it would still work for vegetables.

This weekend is Victoria Day Long Weekend and gas prices are bound to go up on Friday.

if we ever truly run out of petroleum, and I mean completely, we can still go back to other transportation technologies.
our ancestors survived well enough with them.
although it might take you a while to get to your vacation destination overseas...
"Yeah, you could say something similar to the US and NASA, but it's insulting to the chineese people to compare their situation with even the poorest in this country"
Agreed. It's quite impossible to compare the USA's deficit and debt to anything else on this planet.
what makes Robertson's better is that you can put a screw on the screwdriver and it'll stay there without falling at lower angles than the Philips... and the square shape is also less likely to fray, compared with the cross angles of the Philips.
I'm working on modding my mountain bike, the same way people mod their PC cases... with come cool lighting from fossilfool.com and some strategically placed EL wire.
I'd love to put a laptop somewhere on it, but I have yet to figure out what it should be used for, and I dont want to put wi-fi on it.

so they're more than halfway there!
I think the earth curvature is still there, albeit exaggerated by the fisheye lens...
Also notice, the sky isnt blue on that photo.
I can't wait for Rutan to finally snatch the Xprize... almost looks like a fait-accompli.

Good idea! Just like Vivendi did with Valve...
have you ever been to a paint-ball game?
it's quite fun, in spite of the pain.

Have those numbers reached the googol yet?
since China wasnt part of the original plans for the ISS I dont think Chinese space components can be added it at this stage...
unless they used Russian components? I dunno.
That or help the other countries get their stuff up in the ISS's orbit?
and if you drink hard enough, it's "le surlendemain"?
I take a regular film camera with slide film, since I have a kodak slide projector with a top mounted slide charger (with cable remote!).
No one ever shows up for my slide shows, however.

kill all the timezones? how would you deal with daylight savings time then?
Just tell people to show up to work an hour early for 6 months out of 12 and one hour later the other 6?
then surely your car would slide over more than a hundred meters, then hit an obstacle and be throw upward in the air, at least 10 feet up.

right now just one person can make a custom character, and a team can manage a total conversion mod.
with all the detail that one can put in a custom character, will its creation require a whole team?

is why everyone uses Philips head screws and screw drivers.
the Robertson screws and screwdrivers are much superior.
but metric paper makes much better airplanes.
ok well lets just say the ONE way I dont want to die, is to drown in shit.
Besides, isn't methane dangerous??
every year you read a few stories about how a worker got dizzy from the fumes and fell into a big tank of manure.
that's gotta be one of the worst ways to die.
after they pull the body out, the guy's funeral has to be either with a hermetically closed coffin, or incinerated to ashes in an urn.
