Ohh I am with you there completely. I get sick if I stare at the screen for too long. At least with a real book you can laze and read from a page that isn't glaringly bright. Then again I am a self confessed bibliophile and love the whole experience of the book. Some of my most precious possessions are books that have been given to me. I don't think an inscribed e-book as a token of love and affection would go down as well as the real thing.
Ohh I absolutely agree on that score. I make a terrible gamer (I just don't have the patience or skills for it these days) but I get an extreme amount of pleasure from modding the games. I could perhaps understand if I were selling them on but in the privacy of my own home? Are there going to be raids on homes if people are suspected of using nude patches in the sims? Perhaps if this goes through other companies will jump on the bandwagon. I might end up getting sued for taking the hem up on my overly long trousers.
I was brought up in a strict and regimented household. I was considered a musical prodigy and was pushed hard in that direction. I was discouraged from watching tv and every so often my childs books would be taken from me and replaced with something more 'challenging'. The very second I could do it legally, I left home found the most menial job I could and enjoyed being able to, for the first time in my life, have real fun. Don't push your kids too much. They are like soap and will slip away if you try to squeeze them too tightly.
I think the majority of people that this is aimed at are going to be the kinds of people who really don't know their arse from their elbow. I am nowhere near the tech genius that a lot of people are and I take great care to use the best virus scanners and firewalls available to me. I don't equate free with good and I doubt a lot of the people who currently use seperate virus/trojan solutions will fall into that category. I am a little concerned about how easy it will be to remove from my system when I update but remove it I will and I will carry on with the products from the companies I trust.
This does beg the question, if the leak had been traced back to someone who was not seventy years old and pretty much unheard of, would we have even found out about this? For what it's worth though, I would pay highly to see Shatner in that position:D
Wow.... that guy has quite the imagination. I don't think I have ever seen so much horse shit in one place before and I live smack in the middle of riding school territory. I would say the closest this guy has come to Miss Vermont is naming his wank mitt after her.
Reminds me of my American ex talking about the 'cute little underground' Glasgow has:)If you are so keen on England though I have a tourist guide for you:P

I found this article interesting considering that just a few days ago I was reading another article on slashdot where the president of India was having misgivings about so many people being dependent on the windows O/S. Perhaps this is some very good timing on the part of IBM.
Ohh man he fell lucky there. We have had probably around 10 replacements of our GXP60's since we got them. The good thing is that they are always under warranty since they tend to fail inside a month but it is becoming quite normal for me to hear the scream of my husband when he realises they have died on him yet again. I do have to admit though that IBM used to make some bloody good drives and it is a shame they have gone ends up over these latest ones.
You would be amazed at how many people seem to think a good benchmark result is the be all and end all of computing. I have seen a few sites where they overclock machines to the max and stick in freezing units just so they can get that sacred high benchmark score. Just because I don't overclock myself doesn't mean this doesn't stand for a pretty decent sized chunk of the users out there. Looking at how serious people can be about optimising their computers, surely having a cheating driver in there is nullifying what they are trying to do. Considering the benchmarks nowadays seem to be aimed at these kinds of people I personally think that cutting corners in them to artificially boost a result is nothing short of fraudulent.
Does this mean I can no longer pass on old hardware to my mom for making bird scarers out of? Motherboards are nearly as good as AOL cds for keeping the birds out of the plum trees!
