No, I'd rather shoot the motherfucker
(or stab, or strangle, beat to death, whatever gets the job done), however, I wouldn't encourage the government to think that it's ok to track anyone for any amount of time. See, the government has at its disposal much more resources than a simple criminal, and they are therefore in a position to do much more harm, once they are out of control. Legitimizing such intervention is a step in that direction. Therefore stuff like an individual's privacy should be valued above temporary safety concerns.

a sylus is much better than a thumb for entering data and palm's original graffity 1 leaves little room for error (grafity 2 sucks).

    b) it has a much bigger screen than any telephone I've seen. and I've seen bulkier phones. The absense of a keyboard allows that.

    c) it is far cheaper than a cell phone sporting similar fatures

    d) It's NOT a fucking cellphone

  19. Re:Call me cynical... on Bacteria Made to Behave as Computers · · Score: 1

Bacteria are easy to genetically engineer and have been a major ingredient in the active sludge used in water purification plants. Now if you could program bacteria to break toxic substances you could also program them to produce them.
A clever terrorist would program his bacteria to only produce toxins once a certain set of criteria has been met. For example you could program them to start producing neurotoxins once the temperature drops to 4C (average temperature in a refrigerator) or once the amount of sunligt reaches a certain level etc. This would allow for better, more discriminating and hard to detect and identify chemical/biological weapons.
Think of computer viruses - for each way they find to detect and neutralize them, there will be several ways to circumvent it.
