    JUST DELETE IT, no notice, no complaints, no information. I've been a systems admin for 10 years in one form or another and I've NEVER had backlash from deleting inappropriate content, but then I've never reported anyone either...

    Let the user complain someone removed their MP3's or pr0n. Just let them compain...*signed* BoFH

    in Richmond California a 15 year old took a gun from his step fathers house and used it to kill a store clerk. The minor was charged as an adult and his father went down on negligence charges because the gun was not secured.

    In fact I can NOT EVEN BUY a handgun here unless I also buy or show proof of owndership of a certified security device, gun safe, trigger lock etc...

    I agree to a point, but there is a fundamental difference between a gun and a phone...

    You should have to take some additional responsibility with a device thats sole purpose is killing.

    Here in Calif. unless you lock it up, with an approved security device or trigger guard YES you are and can be held responsible for gross negligence and possible homicide...no one has taken the homicide charge yet buty there have been cases of negligence enforced I believe...

    I agree with you on the Key issue regarding email though...

    If the companies, not just M$ want to begin to set prices dynamically then end users should begin sharing/comparing contracts and using that info to leverage a better deal.

    Believe me if our company could point to someone else getting it .02 cheaper we'd be all over them for a reduction, and every other big corp would do the same...

    We had a similar problem with salaries, the new policy does away with salary ranges and makes everything negotiable. It worked for them for a while, now we just sit down monthly and compare salaries, bonuses, and what someone else has managed to negotiate the boss out of in a tight spot...

    The cheaps A$$ ba$tards won't include the bloody lyrics in their ALREADY overpriced cd's, so now when I go print up a addendum to my jacket from some site, THAT IS ILLEGAL ?!?! If they were selling the lyrics that would be one thing but to display them for download WITHOUT profiting, HOW DOES THAT HURT ANYONE ???
    That is the final straw, I give up buying music. Does anyone know a good list of NON-RIAA affiated band/labels ?

    good reasons to buy online. The cost of shipping has driven most online companies into the same price realm as their brick and mortar competitors. The delay in shipping and return hassles plus the fact that you are paying the same amount really shoots down many of the reasons to shop online.

    to a NY Judge, somewhere in the late 1800'as or early 1900's I can't recall exactly, this braqinchild decided that corporations were entities unto themselves, rather than grouping of individual entities. Things went staright to hell from there. The american revolution was as much about the chartered companies control over the new world as it was about anything else...
    I agree that an individual should have the inalienable right to contribute, a corporation SHOULD NOT BE A SINGLE entity but a group of entities...Make them use the PAC route and convince their employees to act in the companies interests if they can....That single change would have A HUGE IMPACT on the political system in the US.

    I can't argue logic like that, but the same truth holds that just because it is written as law does not make it so, and honestly if 80% of the ADULTS in a cult wanted to off themselves, so be it...kids are a different thing

    I really think DVD piracy is subsiding...You can get the DVD, with a bonus DVD and the sound track for a reasonable price, sometimes LESS than the cd music track alone !!!! While I've downloaded some DiVX's in my time the quality is not there and it is usually just a teaser before buying or actually renting, I'm a netflix addict these days :)

    I don't argue there is a segment of the population out there utilizing the web to steal...but there are LAWs that prohibit stealing on the books, and a process by which complaints are heard and dealt with, why does the RIAA need authority that NO OTHER commercial entity has seen fit to need ? Make them go through the court system just like the rest of us.

    When in a democracy, more than 80% of the people support something then by definition it should become legal. The fact that one MINORITY with deep pockets can buy the law is wrong. The new distribution medium that is the WWW REQUIRES new techniques, If the RIAA is not capable or evolving it will go the way of the DODO Bird, eaten into extinction by the very consumers they created...I love IRONY :)

    Be all that as it may I agree, that STEALING music, movies, whatever is WRONG, whether you go to the theatre and video tape it or pull a runner at a store, there are already LAWS that cover these crimes, why does the RIAA think it deserves fast track treatment and special laws ? Let them go through the process just like every other entity.
