    With the proliferation of broadband cable and dsl pipes I'd know I be happy to host small bits. If someone could apply a fasttrack like mechansim to locate the copy nearest to you....

    they are not representitive of future techies...the are probably a good cross section of the up and coming clueless middle manager who will directly influence money decisions. I have a tendency to agree, in general, not person specific, that IT is a huge group of (L)user in the making.

    I'd have to say SUN support followed very closely by Digital (a compaq co.). M$ onsite contractors are really good as well, but the MSDN support we get while it does usually find the answer is rife with administrative roadblocks and hoops that M$ makes you jump thru to get support you've already payed for. The absolute WORST support I've had is COMPAQ desktop support, the tech's showing up had no clue about the problem we'd reported, showed up with wrong parts more than half the time. STK has a good service staff as well....

    I disagree and would be interested in seeing some figures to prove it beyond your opinion. As to wearing head phones looking unprofessional, tell that to 5 million call center or phone workers. Did you just make up your objection on the fly or are you trolling ??

    before the movie was even released SS annouced they has DRASTICALLY underestimated the work involved and WOULD NOT be making another movie. While the animation was awesome the movie was just ok im my opinion.

    Ditto to that, I've got a p4 1.5 with 512 MB PC800 rdrram in 2 chips, and a 1.3 amd with 512 MB ddr2100 in 1 chip. The AMD is hands down faster in everything I've had occasion to run. It boots about 10-15 seconds faster. I'll buy the fact that RDR will excell under certain applications, I've just never encountered one.

    You will pay for it, AND get the pleasure of being 'informed' of exciting new products as well (it is not a bug, it's a feature). Given that the RIAA will still dictate what you can here, receive a stipend for every song played I don't see how this is any better than FM unless you are a long haul trucker, or a cross country flyer. I agree there is the potential for a KILLER APP, but it won't make it to market...

    You can set outlook to ignore HTML and assume all email is txt. I do, it does make for some messy emails but ensures that at least at work I am as safe as can be while condemed to M$ HELL.

    but what would be nice was FILE TYPE standards for say 5 years. Give someone else a chance to break into the market. With 5 years lead time a big enough customer base would develop to make M$ think twice about arbitrarily changing it and forcing upgrade, there-by losing LOTS of customers.

    I almost like win2k, but the video/sound performance is inferior to the win9x code base. Of course 2k does not crash every 2 hours either.
    My UT framerates drop 10 -15 on the same hardware under 2000 :(

    The nomad 20 GB is $349, less the twice the price for more than TWICE the storage....The only thing is it takes 2 bloody hours to fill up my 6GB nomad via USB so this thing is gonna be a nightmare...Apple has it right with FireWire...

    I looked thru the so called elite gamers for Q3 and UT, NONE of the top 10 are on the list, Half the top 10 Clans from the NGI, and UTI are not even aware the contest is going on...What a joke, the team from UT that won the World Invitational was unaware there was even a contest...

    I buy lots of music, I even pay for CD for the SHITTY MAJOR LABELS. When I can't find somthing for sale I search Morpheus and ALMOST ALWAYS find things that the so-called record companies cannot provide me but would like to SUE me for trying to listen to. The record companies are doomed, and rightfully so. When your industry is RUN BY INBRED MORONS things tend to go south.

    Tower is doing a great job putting themselves out of business as we speak. Half the shelves are empty at the local Tower here in Concord. They used to be the BEST book store around for Sci-Fi and Fantasy, now they don't even sell books.

    they charge $5.00 a month per IP. It took a while but the way they do it is by mac address verification. They know your modem mac and if the see anything elso online they halt service and require a remote reset. I was able to get my modem's mac address and using my Linksys router, assign IT the same mac :) Now I've got dhcp running and they are none the wiser. My sdsl connection is superior in ping time and reliability but it is hard to beat 2.5 mb download of of astound cable. PL sucks so I game on the SDSL and pir8 my muzak from the cable :)
